The Medallion Stamp (item 115223 - pg 133) is my VERY VERY VERY FAVORITE new stamp in the NEW Stampin' UP! Catalog... and I know it's a fave of many of you too!!

I saw this color combo somewhere on line and loved it... Rich Razzleberry and Always Artichoke!  whoohooo!!  This is a quick and easy card for our STAMP A STACK class this week:

Sas july 09 medallion card

TIP:   I inked the Brayer (item 102395 - pg 192) with the Rich Razzleberry ink and rolled it ONTO the stamp.. that is a GREAT way to get fabulous coverage on large and bold image stamps.  To SEASON your bold stamps, check out my tip HERE.

Remember the Jumbo Grommets I blogged about last month??  I'm SOOOOOOOOO glad they are in the new catalog!!

After setting the white Jumbo Grommet (item 114348 - pg 179), I poked a hole in the center with my FABULOUS new Paper Piercing Tool (whooooooohoooooooo Stampin' Up! for putting it by itself in the catalog!!! -item 116631 - pg 191), and set a white 5/16" brad in the center (item 112534 -pg 179).

Stamp A Stack Class Samples - Oct. '08 - part 3

The last 2 of the 5 card designs from my Stamp A Stack class this week were pretty quick and easy cards.. I love featuring Stampin' Up! Designer Series paper on my card designs... this one uses "Urban Garden".  Everyone LOVED this paper!  It's a 4-1/4" square card.

Sas oct 08 7

This card features either Kiwi Kiss or Not Quite Navy cardstock (stampers choice) and the Pocket Silhouettes stamp set.  I also used the Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware, and their choice of ribbon: Kiwi Satin Ribbon, Vanilla Taffeta or Cream 1/4" grosgrain.

(you can click to enlarge any photo)

Sas oct 08 8

And behind door #2.... we have the last card from my Stamp A Stack class.. a Tangerine Tango top-fold card with Hawaii Papaya DSP.  I provided a variety of stamps so they could make a birthday, thank you, friend, etc., card based on what they needed most.

Sas oct 08 5

Again, a nice variety of ribbon was available.. gotta love these FUN fall colors!

Stamp A Stack Class samples - Oct '08 - part 2

Here is another card from my Stamp A Stack class this week.  I think this card is just TOO much fun...  I got a swap like this at Convention in July, (NO name, no email, no recipe.. nothing.. so if it was YOU, thank you for the cute idea)!  :)

The 3 purses are all made from Stampin' Up! punches!!    Stamp the cardstock first with the TOTALLY TABS stamp set,  and then do all the punching!

Sas oct 08 4

The card is Pink Pirouette.  The purses are punched from Brocade Blue, So Saffron and Pretty in Pink and I used the Rich Regals brads. Can you believe it took 7 punches to make these!?  :)  You can view all the punches in the On Line Catalog HERE.

October '08 Stamp A Stack cards part 1

Yesterday I posted a video with a couple of tips.. here are the cards featured in that video.

These are for my Stamp A Stack class this week.  Each person makes 10 cards - 2 each of 5 designs.

For this card, I wanted to provide a masculine card option for our class, so I used the Stampin' Up! Designer paper from the Holiday Treasures and Chocolate Chip packs, featuring the browns and greens.  These can be used as gift card holders, or can include just small notecards. They are made from the Small Open End Kraft envelopes.  You can CLICK HERE to see how I turn the envelope into these gift card holders - if you haven't already guessed how.

A small note and/or gift card tucks nicely inside.

Sas oct 08 9

Here is the 2nd card featured on the video, and in my Class this week.  I wanted something for weddings or anniversaries.

This card is a 3x6 card that opens on the side and fits in the Whisper White Small Open End Envelope.  It features the beautiful Urban Garden DSP and the Always Stamp set.  "Love" comes from the "Join the Cheer" Big Shot die.

Info for placing the Rhinestone brad in the center of the Button Bouquet button can be found on the video.

Fun Ribbon Choices

Well, it happened... by the 3rd session of the SAB Stamp A Stack class this week, we ran out of Groovy Guava Stitched ribbon - horrors.. I know! - but.. that presented an opportunity to play with other ribbon that also coordinated with this fun 3x6 card!  Check it out... Wednesday participants had their choice of: White Taffeta ribbon, Wild Wasabi Double Stitched Ribbon or Wild Wasabi Striped ribbon after the Groovy Guava ran out... too cute, don't cha think??

Wasabi_ribbon_3x6

The patterned flowered paper is from the Summer Days Simply Scrappin' kit (pg 175), and details on making the fun corrugated leaves can be found here.  Ribbon is found on pg 191.

Thanks, Alyssa for suggesting I start including page numbers... great idea!

Until next time,

How I set up my Stamp Classes

Many demonstrators have asked how I set up my classes and accomodate so many stampers.  I used to rent a community center for my classes, but the cost got to be too high, so I have been holding classes at home for several years.  Here in California, we don't have basements, so we use the garage.. we park the cars outside on class days, and my husband sets up 5 tables for me.  My classes are either on Monday and Tuesday nights, or 2x on a Saturday (each class is repeated 2x).

EDITED TO ADD 2-27-08:  Several of you have asked about pricing on my classes.. this Stamp A Stack was $15.  You can click on the STAMP CLASS SCHEDULE in the left column of this blog to see my current class schedule, descriptions, pricing, times, etc., to give you a better idea of those details. Thanks for all your interest!

Here are 2 of the tables set up yesterday for last night's Stamp A Stack Class - Stampin' Up! 11x17 Grid sheets at each stamping space:

Project_tables

Close up of one project table set up and ready to go:

Project_at_table

I usually have one project per table, with the cardstock all cut for that project:

Cut_pieces

All the stamps, punches, etc., are in the middle of the table.  Tools like Snail, bone folder, punches, etc., are in a small caddy in the center of each table (Caddy from Staples):

Tool_caddy

I have an additional table set up with a display board, 3-D samples, catalogs, order forms, wish list, etc.:

And here are some of the ladies having fun last night:

And we had a brand new stamper last night too!  Joy (left) brought Bonnie... welcome, Bonnie!

Joy_bonnie

I am repeating my Stamp  A Stack tonight and again on Wed. morning!  Everyone enjoys going home with 10 cards!  I'll post the finished cards tomorrow.

If you have any questions, let me know.
