After I made the above card for our Stamp A Stack class sample... I made a slight variation using 3 of the die cuts from the Fun Flowers Die and the big shot, in Peach Parfait cardstock... kind of looks like a California Poppy!

The edges are sponged with Pumpkin Pie ink and a sponge dauber to make them stand out a bit.

Paisley Petals DSP Faux Fabric card

This was another one of our cards from my April Stamp A Stack class.  This is a fun technique called Faux Fabric... the designer paper is put through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Embossing folder and it comes out looking and feeling almost like tapestry fabric!!  SOOO COOL!  Big Thanks to Laurie Zoellmer for this fab idea!!

After adhering the 3 pieces of Petal Paisley DSP to the White piece of cardstock, run the 2 pieces together through the Big Shot with the SQUARE LATTICE EMBOSSING FOLDER (#119976).

Dimensions I used to make this card:

• Old Olive base card: 5-1/2"x8-1/2" - folded in 1/2
• Bravo Burgundy panel: 5"x 3-3/4"
• Whisper White panel: 4-3/4"x 3-1/2"
• each piece of Petal Paisley paper: 1-1/2"x 3-1/4"

Fun Flowers meets Love Letters

This was a fun combo - the Fun Flowers Big Shot die and the Love Letters Designer Paper - all from Stampin' Up!  This was one of the cards my students made in our February Stamp a Stack class. Don't you love the combo of Cherry Cobbler with the cream & black?

Peach Parfait - Just Believe Stamp A Stack class sample

Wow.. I can't believe how behind I got in posting samples... this was from a Stamp A Stack class a month ago... I got this great card idea from my upline Sandy and from my downline Janet.. they both did cards similar to this featuring Peach Parfait ink and cardstock, and the Just Believe Stamp set.

The left panel is embossed using the Finial Press Embossing folder and the Big Shot from Stampin' Up!.  Then we inked the brayer with Peach Parfait ink and LIGHTLY rolled over the embossed/raised area to make the design POP.

the little Basic Pearls give such a sweet touch to this card.

after our class, I got the idea to add some Poppy Parade cardstock and butterflies to the card.. I kind of like how this POPS

Stamp A Stack Class sample - part 1

A favorite among my Stampin' Up! class attendees is our Stamp A Stack Classes... we make 2 of each card during this class and they love going home with a stack of cards ready to send family and friends.

Here was one of the cards we made last month:

The muscial score paper is from the NEWSPRINT pack of DSP (pg 175, item 117166).  We ran it through the Big Shot with the Finial Press embossing folder and then rubbed Champagne Mist Shimmer paint on it with a sponge dauber... it's very pretty in person!  The card is Natural Ivory cardstock.. really yummy.

The gorgeous image at the bottom is from the FREE STAMP SET called BLISS. This is only available for a few more weeks during Sale a Bration!

 

 Students in class had their choice of ribbons and different sentiments to embellish this card.

Christmas Stamp a Stack card #4

Here is the 4th and final project from my CHRISTMAS STAMP A STACK CLASS last month. 

This is actually not a new idea.. I got a swap at the Founder's Circle trip in December with this circular focal point idea. 

HOW TO:

1. ink the trees from Scenic Season or Lovely as a Tree in Night of Navy ink onto Whisper White cardstock - BEFORE CLEANING or reinking it, stamp it again on another Whisper White panel to place INSIDE your card
2. using the new 2-1/2" extra large circle punch, punch out a portion of the tree image
3. using a 3/4" or 1" circle punch, punch out a piece of a "Post-it" note, being sure to get a portion of the sticky part in your circle
4. place this small circle onto your larger punched out circle
5. sponge OVER the small circle and above the "horizon" line with Night of Navy ink and a Stampin' Sponge to indicate a darker sky area
6. use the Northern Flurry Embossing folder to emboss the background Whisper White panel and layer DSP, greeting and tree embellishment to the card.

This is a 3x6 card, so you can cut 4 of these out of a 12x12 sheet of cardstock.  Use the Stampin' Up! Open End Envelopes for these quick cards.  The base card is Old Olive and the panel is Very Vanilla.

The 2 green ornaments are stamped, and the center one is punched out with the ornament punch and the Jolly Holiday Designer Paper.

Christmas Stamp a Stack card #2

Here is another card we made at my Christmas Stamp A Stack class last month... enjoy the quick and fun ideas!  THIS IS A HYBRID MY DIGITAL STUDIO CARD - part MDS and part cardstock/ribbon/big shot.

The focal point in this card was made in My Digital Studio. I printed out the "family with tree" image from the WELCOME CHRISTMAS digital download  (#123962, $3.95) with a kraft script background, and die cut it with the Top Note Die and the Big Shot! The background is done with the Petals a Plenty  Embossing Folder and the brayer technique.

 

For the tree decorations on the card above, I put brads on the tree in MDS.

For the tree below, we added Basic Pearls to the tree.

 

We topped it off with a Basic Rhinestone on top!
 

The greetings were printed in My Digital Studio as well, and punched out with a scallop oval punch.

World Card Making Day class - part 2

Here are the other 2 cards we made at my World Card Making Day Open House on Saturday...

Card Above:  Dusty Durango and Soft Suede, For All You Do stamp set (pg 118), Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder.

 

Card Above:  Idea fom Connie Babbert.  The white flowers are from the Flowers Sizzlit Decorative Strip die.  We mixed some Champagne Shimmer Paint with rubbing alcohol in spray bottle and sprayed it onto the black cardstock for the pretty shimmery look.   The Buttons are from the PLAYGROUND button assortment.

 
 

World Card Making Day - samples part 1

Saturday was WORLD CARD MAKING DAY... we took advantage of that and had a great time making cards for several hours!!  I offered an Open House style class with 4 card designs.. guests could make 1 or 2 of each.  Part 2 will be here on my blog tomorrow.

The idea above was on the Stampin' Up! site awhile ago.. I love these new EXTREME stamps since I always seem to need cards for guys and all I have on hand are flower cards! LOL :)   Colors: Bermuda Bay and Basic Black.  Surfer is embossed with the Black Craft Pad and clear emb. powder.

I used the Oval Scallop die and the BIG SHOT for this card.  The "pot" is the ORNAMENT PUNCH (in the Holiday Mini) with the tip cut off! :)  Too fun!!  I got that idea from my friend Sharon Field :)
