Tropical Chic treat ideas & 4x4 card

Today I am sharing 3 fun projects with you, all featuring the SUPER popular Tropical Chic bundle and Tropical Chic designer paper!!

Above: Treat Time bundle ... so fun! See it on page 35 of the current 2018-2019 Stampin' Up! catalog! I used the Tropical Chic paper to make the "sour cream twist" treat, and stamped flowers and leaves from the Tropical Chic stamp set. I used the tag and greeting from the Treat Time bundle and some Poppy Parade striped ribbon to top it all off!

These were my supplies as I was creating this project. I took it to Cindee's house and we made them together!

While I was at Cindee's she had created 2 Tropical Chic projects for us to make. A Pillow Box and also a 4x4 card.. both shown below.

I LOVED the Highland Heather tropcial flowers on this box... I had not stamped them with that color yet, but how gorgeous are they!? SOO pretty!! The bright Lemon Lime Twist, Granny Apple Green and Call me Clover greens just make this gorgeous project ZING!! Find the Pillow Boxes on pg 193 in your 2018-2019 Annual catalog, or HERE in my online store.

One of the really neat features of the pillow box that Cindee designed was that we stamped the leaves into fun foam!!! Heat the fun foam first for a bit with the Heat Tool, then stamp the leaf images into the fun foam (either with or without ink), let cool, then die cut!! how fun!!

The 4x4 card that Cindee had ready for us to stamp was so much fun to make. We used the Tropical Chic bundle, and layered both the square die and the die cut leaves. We finished it off with a stamped flower, and one of the Tropical embellishments. Love it!!

Bokeh Dots Rainbow background Birthday Card idea

Hello! Thank you for joining me today for another handstamped card idea! Today I am featuring the Stampin' Up! Bokeh Dots background stamp as well as the Spectrum Rainbow pad that I inked with my Stampin' Up! ink refills!

For this colorful birthday card idea, I inked the Bokeh Dots background stamp with my spectrum pad (it is the perfect size!!) and stamped it onto Whisper White cardstock. I cut that to 1/4" around the image, layered it onto the Gorgeous Grape printed paper from my Brights 6x6 Designer Paper Stack and then onto a 3-1/2" x 5" Stampin' Up! thick whisper white note card! I finished off the card with 3 of the Glitter Enamel Dots and a stamped greeting in Gorgeous Grape from the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set.

Stampin' Up! Alaska Cruise Swap Card by Patty Bennett

I hope you have had fun following me on our Alaskan Cruise Adventure this week! I've been posting from Seattle and the Cruise ship whenever I can!! You can see those posts HERE.

While we are on the ship, one of the Stampin' UP! activities is a card swap. I wanted to share the card I made, and I hope you like it! It features the Healing Hugs stamp set and several other fun Stampin' UP! products!

I really love the new Delicate Lace edgelits from Stampin' UP!.. that's what I used for the lovely white lacy detail on these cards. You can read more about them HERE.

When I made multiples of a card (which is almost always), I die cut, score, stamp, and fussy cut everything I need first, then assemble.

Zippy Summer Color Combo for Varied Vases bundle

The Stampin' UP! Varied Vases bundle paired with the thick Whisper White note cards can create a very Clean and Simple card design with just a bit of stamping and some punched vases!

I used the Vase Builder punch and 6x6 In Color paper stack make quick work of the vases!

What do you think about these simple, clean cards with white space? It was hard for me to leave the white space, but I liked them when I was all done! :)

Each stem is stamped in Lemon Lime Twist ink, then the flower image is stamped (left to right) with Lovely Lipstick ink, Pineapple Punch ink and Grapefruit Grove ink. I used the thick Whisper White Note cards.. they are GREAT for these clean and simple cards.

If you love fun, bright and bold cards, you are going to love this birthday card idea!! I used the Broadway Bound suite of Stampin' Up! products on pages 68-69 in your 2018-2019 catalog, or HERE online.

I created 4 side fold cards with the splashy color theme of Basic Black, Lemon Lime Twist and Lovely Lipstick to celebrate 4 upcoming birthdays! The card base is Thick Whisper White cardstock, perfect for card bases, layered with Lemon Lime Twist or Lovely Lipstick cardstock, then layered with a piece of the Broadway Bound Specialty paper.

Fun Design Items to Note:

The hat framelit die cuts the hats in the Designer Paper
Pearls and Glitter enamel dots are great accents for these cards
Lemon Lime Twist and Granny Apple Green ribbons are a perfect coordinating touch
the "dots" image for Hooray and Wish are super cute when layered on the solid image

Stampin' Bingo fun at Kurstan's house!

I thought you might enjoy some fun photos from a recent Stampin' Bingo event I attended. It was at Kurstan's house (she is in my Luv 2 Stamp Group) and she provided 4 Stampin' UP! card projects for us to make, as well as 6 Bingo games, snacks and prizes! We had a blast, and so many people bought "extra bingo cards" that we ran out of the little tokens and started using the Hershey kisses on the table, and then pennies and then punched cardstock circles!!

Spectrum Rainbow Pad Direct to Paper Background

I have been enjoying using my custom Spectrum pad, that I inked with Stampin' Up! ink refills (see this post). Today I am sharing a different way to use your rainbow pad... I used "direct to paper" technique with my watercolor paper, spritzed it, added more ink with my refills and blended with the Aqua Painter! I stamped images from the Sheltering Tree stamp set on top and I love it!

spritz with water
add more ink or more water if desired

Note.. you will get different results with different paper. I used Stampin' UP! watercolor paper on my card today.

After the background dried thoroughly, I stamped the tree trunk from the Sheltering Tree set in Early Espresso ink, then stamped the leaf image in several shades of green. I used Call me Clover, Lemon Lime Twist, and Shaded Spruce.

I matted the watercolor paper with Gorgeous Grape cardstock, then added it to a folded Mango Melody card base.

Stampin' Blends coloring on Petal Palette flowers

Today I am excited to share these Petal Palette flower stamps from Stampin 'UP! .. I LOVE this rose image!! I colored these stamped roses with my NEW Stampin' Blends markers (live last week on video) and then die cut the images and added them to this card!! I hope you enjoy this idea! Please enjoy my VIDEO TUTORIAL at the bottom of this blog post for coloring and shading tips.

I combined 2 Stampin' Up! designer papers in the background of this card:

Tropical Chic designer paper (the stripes & die cut label) #146916
Petal Promenade (floral strip) #146913

Additional Card Details:

The Granny Apple Green die cut label was die cut using the Stitched Label framelit and Tropical Chic paper
The sentiment is stamped in Flirty Flamingo ink onto a Whisper White Stitched Shape oval, using the Treat Time stamp set
The flowers are stamped with Memento Black ink onto Thick Whisper White and colored with Stampin' Blends: Flirty Flamingo combo pack, Poppy Parade combo pack, Dark Pineapple Punch, Dark Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green combo pack, Dark Call me Clover, then die cut with the coordinating Petals & More thinlits.
I used Artisan Pearls to finish off the card
The base card is a 4" x 11" Flirty Flamingo piece, folded in 1/2.
I used Powder Pink ruffled ribbon to pull in the soft pinks on this card.
