Color Fusers Blog Hop: March 2017

Color Fusers Stampin' Up! Color Combo Blog Hop - March 2017

I think you are going to enjoy this gorgeous In Color Stampin' Up! color combination!  I am participating in the Color Fusers Blog Hop again this month and am excited about my Gift Box project today!  For our challenges, we are required to use at least 3 of the colors each month, so I selected the 3 In Colors from the March 2017 Color Fuser combination.

My White Gift Box project features Mint Macaron, Peekaboo Peach and Watermelon Wonder.

Stampin' Up! White Gift Box stamped and decorated with the Special Reason floral set and die cut with Stylish Stems framelits. Stampin' Up! In Color Combo. project by Patty Bennett

Instead of a card I decided to create a gift box using the Stampin' Up! White Gift Box (#142000) which is 3" x 3" x 3" and comes with an acetate sleeve that you can slide onto the box.  I wrapped In Color Designer Paper around the box, and then decorated the front with doilies and die cut flowers and leaves from the Special Reason stamp set and Stylish Stems coordinating framelit set.

I elected to put the decoration for the top of the box on the acetate sleeve.

After wrapping the box with 2 layers of In Color designer paper and strips of Mint Macaron Sale a Bration glimmer paper, I added a Lace Doily and an In Color doily (Watermelon Wonder) and tied it all up with Peekaboo Peach ribbon!  Then I decorated it with the flowers (shown below) and White Perfect Accents in the flower centers.

Special Reason flower stamp set from Stampin' UP! die cut with matching Stylish Stems framelits.

To decorate my box, I stamped the Special Reason flower on the printed polkadot Mint Macaron In Color designer paper and also on Whisper White cardstock.  I die cut the flowers with the Stylish Stems framelits to add to my box.

Money Saving Bundle!  Save 10% when you purchase the Special Reason stamp set and Stylish Stems framelits together!  Order #144719 for the wood mount bundle or #144720 for the clear mount bundle!

Have fun - stamp in printed designer paper for a whole new look! Stampin' UP! Special Reason flower stamp.

Don't forget... Watermelon Wonder is one of 5 Stampin' Up! In Colors retiring SOON!  See THIS POST for all the info!

I decided to also die cut some of the Stylish Stems leaves with the Mint Macaron Sale a Bration glimmer paper to add to my box!  I love the little splash of glitz!  I'm not sure who I am giving this box to, or for what occasion (I do have someone in mind), but I thought that "celebrate" would be a good sentiment to use no matter what I decide to put in the box!

Do you love those Mint Macaron glimmer leaves!?  I do!!  Get your glimmer paper free with your $50 order!  See THIS POST for more details!

The stamped Celebrate image and the banner are both found in the Birthday Bright stamp set on page 13 of the Occasions catalog.  I die cut the banner with the Bunch of Banners framelit set.

Color Fusers Blog Hop: February 2017

Color Fusers blog hop February 2017 - Stampin' Up! Color Combo

The Color Fusers Design Team is back with fun projects for you featuring the YUMMY Stampin' Up!  color combo shown above: Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral, Early Espresso and Peekaboo Peach.

I ended up using all 4 colors on the card in the center below, and used 3 of the 4 colors on the other 2 cards.  Each card features THREE (yes, count 'em 3!!) Sale a Bration stamp sets!! AND the delicious Sale-a-Bration metallic ribbon!! How did I manage to do that!? :)

Stampin' UP! Sale-a-Bration stamp sets on Thank You Cards. Color Fuser Blog Hop for February 2017. Avant Garden, Delicate Details and So Very Much stamp sets featured.

Did you know you can select a free gift with purchase through March 31, 2017?  The 3 Sale a Bration stamp sets shown on these cards AND the beautiful metallic ribbon are 4 of the choices of free gifts!!

CLICK HERE to read more about Sale a Bration.

This top fold card features all 4 of the Color Fuser colors this month.  In addition to stamping, I also sponged Peekaboo Peach around the edges of the Whisper White cardstock, and then mounted it onto Calypso Coral cardstock before putting it onto the top folded Bermuda Bay card. I also flicked some Clear Wink of Stella onto this card.. it's shimmery in person!

Below: 3 Sale a Bration 2017 stamp sets used on these cards:

Delicate Details (lace set), So Very Much (thank you set) and Avant Garden (floral set)

Each card has an image from the Delicate Details lace stamp set stamped in Peekaboo Peach about 2" up from the bottom of the Whisper White panel.  Then I stamped the flowers from Avant Garden in Watermelon Wonder ink, and then the Thank You from the So Very Much set in either Early Espresso or Bermuda Bay.  I think the Gold Metallic Sale a Bration ribbon is just the perfect finishing touch to these cards!!

I used the speckle stamp in the Avant Garden set and Peekaboo Peach ink to speckle some dots onto each card, then flicked some Gold Wink of Stella on each card to tie in with the Gold Metallic Sale a Bration ribbon.  I REALLY love this ribbon from the Sale a Bration brochure.. another free choice through March 31, 2017.

The cards above and below are similar, but I switched the layers of Peekaboo Peach and Calypso Coral because I couldn't decide which way I liked it best?  What do you think?

Color Fusers Blog Hop IS BACK! January 2017

After a little winter break, the amazing Color Fusers Design Team is BACK!!

We are excited to bring you a fun line up of projects today, all featuring this amazing, fresh Stampin' Up! color combo of Crushed Curry, Tangerine Tango, Sweet Sugarplum and Very Vanilla!

Color Fusers Blog Hop color combo for January 2017. Stampin' Up! colors Crushed Curry, Tangerine Tango, Sweet Sugarplum and Very Vanilla

Stampin Up! Occasions catalog Succulent Garden framelit die flowers, Vertical Garden Hello stamp and watercolor wash background card. Color Fusers January 2017 color combo. Card by Patty Bennett

I was in a watercoloring mood, so I created the background of this top fold card with Stampin' Up! watercolor paper, reinkers and my AquaPainter.  The folded card is a Stampin' Up! In Color: Sweet Sugarplum.

I wet the watercolor paper, turned it over and wet the other side, then added color from the drops of reinker using my AquaPainter.  By wetting both sides, the paper doesn't curl :)

I let the colors bleed together and enjoyed the results!

Note: Sweet Sugarplum on watercolor paper (it's a vanilla color) is brown-ish compared to putting it on white.. but it's still pretty!

Stampin Up! Occasions catalog Succulent Garden framelit die flowers, Vertical Garden Hello stamp and watercolor wash background card. Color Fusers January 2017 color combo. Card by Patty Bennett

I stamped the Hello stamp from the Vertical Garden set (new in the 2017 Occasions catalog, page 22, #142996) in Sweet Sugarplum on Very Vanilla cardstock.  It's a 2 step stamp, so it gives you that shadow effect!

Here is a fun crafting tip for you ... after cutting the pieces of Stampin' Up! watercolor paper for my cards, I ended up with strips left over.  I dabbed on some water and some color and then die cut the flowers using up the scraps!!  How great is that!?

Watercolor Wash craft tip.. use up scraps of watercolor paper by dabbing on color and then die cutting or punching shapes! by Patty Bennett

I added the die cut flowers from the Succulent framelits set (pg 21 in the Occasions catalog, #142757) with glue dots to my card and topped off each one with the gold Metallic Enamel shape.

A piece of gold 1/4" Natural trim ribbon finished off the card.

Color Fusers Blog Hop: September 2016 - Part 1

Color fusers blog hop sept 2016

Welcome to part 1 of the September Color Fusers Design Team Blog Hop, featuring 4 wonderful Stampin' Up!  Colors: Flirty Flamingo, Mint Macaron, Rich Razzleberry and Sweet Sugarplum!  We are so glad you have joined us on this blog hop and hope you enjoy all of the cards and projects we have to share with you!  Please be sure to click on all of the links at the bottom of this post to visit all of the wonderful Stampin' UP! blogs!

When working on my stamped project for today, I noticed that the Blooms & Bliss Designer Series Paper has nearly the above color combo, so I started with a piece of the floral paper from that package (#141654, pg 173) and then I altered it by adding Rich Razzleberry flowers and Mint Macaron leaves to it!

Blooms & Bliss altered color combo designer paper from Stampin' Up!. Color Fusers September color challenge. Floral note card by Patty Bennett at www.pattystamps.com

The JUST A NOTE greeting is found on page 49 of the 2016 Stampin' Up! annual catalog in the Flourishing Phrases stamp set.  I stamped it on Whisper White with Rich Razzleberry ink, and die cut it with the Layering Ovals framelits.   The circles are all die cut with the Layering Circles framelits with the Fancy Frost paper and the Blooms & Bliss paper.

Below, you can see the transformation from the Blooms and Bliss color combo to the Color Fusers September Color Challenge combo!!

MAKEOVER: Blooms & Bliss altered color combo designer paper from Stampin' Up!. Color Fusers September color challenge. Floral note card by Patty Bennett at www.pattystamps.com

I loved adding all the layers of cut out flowers to this card, on top of die cut circles and a scalloped circle.  The flowers are all from a stamp set called Fresh Fruit, on pg 149 of the annual Stampin' UP! catalog, #141770 in the online store.  The leaves are from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set, found on pg 49, #141531 or 141534 in the online store.

I stamped and cut out all the flowers with Paper Snips.  Some flowers were stamped on Whisper White cardstock, and as you can see above, some were stamped on the Blooms & Bliss paper!

My finished piece is mounted on Mint Macaron and Sweet Sugarplum cardstock.

Lots of lovely Enamel Shape circle dots in the flower centers finish off the color combo.

Don't forget, Enamel Shapes are ON SALE THROUGH WED. Sept. 7th!!  CLICK HERE.

Color Fusers Blog Hop: August 2016 - Part 2

Color fusers blog hop august

Welcome to part 2 of the August Color Fusers Design Team Blog Hop, featuring 3 wonderful Stampin' Up!  Colors: Cherry Cobbler, Smoky Slate and Watermelon Wonder!  We are so glad you have joined us on this blog hop and hope you enjoy all of the cards and projects we have to share with you!  Please be sure to click on all of the links at the bottom of this post to visit all of the wonderful Stampin' UP! blogs!

Today's card features one of my favorite stamp sets (and BIG surprise, it's a flower set!), and it's called Penned & Painted.

Penned and Painted handstamped card featuring Stampin' UP! stamps, ink and paper and the Color Fusers August Color combo, by Patty Bennett at PattyStamps.com

I think these colors work really nicely together on this card!

This Penned and Painted stamp set is just awesome!!  You can use it in so many different ways, combining all or part of the 3 step stamps for each image!!  Penned & Painted is one of my favorite Stampin' UP! stamp sets right  now..  and you can find it on pg 143 in the 2016 catalog, or #141938 in my online store.

These images give a neat, soft, watercolor look when stamped!

Penned and Painted handstamped card featuring Stampin' UP! stamps, ink and paper and the Wink of Stella pen, and the Color Fusers August Color combo, by Patty Bennett at PattyStamps.com

I used some Cherry Cobbler Cardstock for my Congrats die cut and then added Clear Wink of Stella to the die cut before adhering it to the vellum strip with Multipurpose glue.  The Congrats die cut is found in the Sunshine Wishes thinlit set on pg 194 in the 2016 Stampin' UP! catalog (#141489).

Another finishing touch was to add the 3 Cherry Cobbler Enamel Shapes in the center of the flower.  All of the Enamel Shapes are found on pg 177, and the Regal package with Cherry Cobbler is #141681

The 1/8" silver ribbon adds another pretty touch to this card, bringing in the Smoky Slate color.  Find all of the Stampin' UP! ribbons on pages 178 and 179 in the annual catalog.  Find the Silver ribbon here in my online store #132137

Welcome to part 1 of the August Color Fusers Design Team Blog Hop, featuring 3 wonderful Stampin' Up!  Colors: Cherry Cobbler, Smoky Slate and Watermelon Wonder!  We are so glad you have joined us on this blog hop and hope you enjoy all of the cards and projects we have to share with you!  Please be sure to click on all of the links at the bottom of this post to visit all of the wonderful Stampin' UP! blogs!

Today I have 2 projects for you, both featuring the new Thoughtful Branches bundle which will be available tomorrow, Aug. 2 for customer purchase, and our August Color Fuse color combo.  See below in this post for the ordering info for the stamp set, the dies or the bundle.

Thoughtful Branches 3x3 notecard by Patty Bennett featuring Stampin' UP! bundle, paper, and accessories available at www.pattystamps.com

My first card with our Cherry Cobbler, Watermelon Wonder and Smoky Slate color combo features the "flower" or "tree top" portion of the die from this bundle.  I stamped the image in Watermelon Wonder ink onto Watermelon Wonder cardstock and die cut it, then added it to a scrap of Whisper White, per my instructions below.

This is a little 3x3 gift card, to be added to a gift bag or wrapped box.

Create a fun background with the Thoughtful Branches die cut for this 3x3 notecard by Patty Bennett featuring Stampin' UP! bundle, paper, and accessories available at www.pattystamps.com

I added a mat of Cherry Cobbler cardstock and layered it onto a folded 3x3 Watermelon Wonder card. The striped paper and "for you" in the Smoky Slate color completes the color combo challenge.  The silver ribbon just finishes it off perfectly!  The sweet scalloped Smoky Slate piece of cardstock was die cut using the new Layering Circles framelits from Stampin' Up!

---------------------------------------------------------------------

More info on Thoughtful Branches Bundle available Aug. 2nd:

The bundle features a 20+  piece stamp set and 9 dies in the framelit set!  This will be a limited time offer set in August, starting Aug. 2nd while supplies last.. so be sure to add this to your August shopping list! :)  Click to download a .pdf showing this great bundle!

Card #2, also featuring our August Color Fuse combo, features the stamps from the Thoughtful Branches set and subtle background colors applied with the Sponge Brayer on Whisper White cardstock.

Use a Sponge Brayer for a soft background for this Thoughtful Branches card by Patty Bennett featuring Stampin' UP! bundle, paper, and accessories available at www.pattystamps.com

I was aiming for a soft sunset feeling with this background so I applied color with my Sponge Brayer to the Whisper White cardstock with Cherry Cobbler at the top, then some Watermelon Wonder, and then the Smoky Slate for the "ground".  I stamped the trees and grass from the Thoughtful Branches set in Smoky Slate ink, and the bird and greeting in Cherry Cobbler ink.  I love the greetings and font in this stamp set, don't you!?

Great Color Fuse color combo featured in this Thoughtful Branches card by Patty Bennett featuring sponge brayer background and Stampin' UP! bundle, paper, and accessories available at www.pattystamps.com

Watermelon Wonder striped ribbon finishes off the card.  Layers of Watermelon Wonder and Smoky Slate patterned paper on the folded Cherry Cobbler card complete the Color Fuse trio for this months challenge.

Stampin' UP! In Color combo: Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach and Cucumber Crush

How to Make a Window Front Card:

I wanted to create a different style card, so I decided to cut an opening in my card front using the Project Life by Stampin' UP! Cards & Labels framelit set.

  • Start with a 4-1/4 x 11" top fold card
  • Position the rectangle die in the front panel of the card, put it through the Big Shot to die cut the opening
  • Add a piece of Window Sheet, approx. 4" x 5-1/4".  I used Fast Fuse and the adhesive barely shows! yay!
  • Use the rectangle cut out to die cut the Peekaboo Peach flower piece to conserve cardstock
  • Add a contrasting piece of designer paper inside the card so that you have a fun pattern showing through the window

How to create a Window Card featuring Stampin' UP! Project Life Cards & Labels framelits and window sheets by Patty Bennett, www.PattyStamps.com

On my Window Front Card, I used Cucumber Crush cardstock to die cut the stem/leaves from the Thoughtful Branches framelits set, and then cut the flower portion in both Flirty Flamingo and Peekaboo Peach and layered them together.

I also stamped the leaf image on the Peekaboo Peach with Peekaboo Peach ink, then used my Wink of Stella to add glimmer to the top flower layer! So pretty!

Use Wink of Stella on the Stampin' UP! Thoughtful Branches limited-time offer stamp set. Hydrangea card by Patty Bennett

I could tell there were several Thoughtful Branches greeting images that would fit in the label from the Project Life Cards & Labels framelit set.. here is a tip to check to see if your image will fit!

How to find greeting images to fit in your framelit label shapes, by Patty Bennett

One last tip for you .. when adding intricate die cut pieces to your projects, use either the Fine-Tip glue pen or the Multipurpose glue sparingly!

Die Cut Tip: Use Multipurpose Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen sparingly when adding adhesive to intricate dies.

I often get asked.. what is the best way to GET STARTED with Project Life!?  Well, there is no one correct answer (well actually there is - whatever works for you!) but for me this is how I start:

How I get started with my Stampin' Up! - Memory Keeping with Project Life Happy Times kit by Patty Bennett #PLXSU

I work well with this system... organize my photos, grab my pocket pages, then go through the Project Life cards.   If you want to learn more about this system for starting your Project Life album, CLICK HERE to watch a video I created with Sara Douglass, Stampin' UP! CEO, as she explains 3 easy steps to starting your Project Life album.

Click here for more info on how I organize my Project Life cards for easy access at my Project Life station.

If I am wondering which Project Life Card Collection I want to use, I click on the Project Life card collections in the ONLINE STORE HERE, then I click on a card collection and click the MORE button then the + sign and I scroll through all of the card designs in that pack to give me a feel for whether or not I want to use that kit in my current album.  See the tips below for seeing all the cards in a pack.

Did you know there is a pretty easy way to see a quick view of all the cards in each Project Life Card Collection?  Follow the steps below after going to my Stampin' UP! online store here.

TIP: Above and Below:  Don't be afraid to cut some photos in 1/2.  I learned this tip when I was creating my album with Sara Douglass... sometimes it just works out really well for your page!!

TIP: Above and Below:  Use postcards, professional photos, and trip itinerary memorabilia in your pages to round out telling the story.   Sometimes we just don't have all the photos we need for a layout or album and need to include other items.

TIP: Embellishment tip:  Use Washi Tape and your stapler to attach photos, embellishments or memorabilia to your Project Life cards for added interest and dimension.

When I was at the Stampin' Up! home office last December celebrating my million dollar sales achievement, I got to see lots of new catalog products {squeal!!!!}, and after Spencer showed them to me, he gave me the Foxy Friends Stamp set and matching punch!!!!  Eeek!!!  You probably could have heard me squeal all the way back here in California!!!  :)

I have been creating lots of fun projects with this bundle, and today I'm sharing my kitty cat card with you!

I love that this bundle is so versatile and that you can create so many different little critters with it!

This idea sheet was on display at the Stampin' Up! OnStage event last month, showing several different cuties you can create with this Foxy Friends stamp set and Fox Builder punch!

Depending on which greeting and paper you use, this card could be used for anything from a get well to a birthday, to a thank you, to a baby card!  I truly love the font used in the Tin of Cards stamp set; that is the one I used for these cards, stamped in Archival Black ink.

I used the Shine On Specialty DSP in the background, cut to 3-1/4" x 4-3/4" on a Crumb Cake Note Card.

The kitty is stamped in Crumb Cake ink on Thick Whisper White cardstock and then punched out with the 2-1/2" circle punch.

I stamped about 60 of these Happy Hello Foxy Friend cards to swap at the OnStage event, you can see that post here.

Project Life by Stampin' Up! International Blog Hop

PL international blog hop

I was really excited to be asked to be a participant on this Project Life International Blog Hop this month with my amazing Stampin' Up! demonstrator friends from all over the world!  We each have a passion for our Stampin' UP! business and Stampin' Up! products and a love for the Project Life line of products!  You are visiting me here in the San Francisco Bay Area, California, USA, and you will travel the world as you click on all the links at the bottom of this post!

Do you need a GREAT Gift Idea for a New Mom!?

I have your answer!

Our friends Stephanie and Gabe are having TWIN baby girls very soon and I knew I wanted to make up a 6x8 Project Life album for them and have it all ready so that she can just slip in photos of their little babies when they arrive!

Today I am sharing this great gift idea with you! I hope you will think of someone who might be blessed by a gift like this! Watch my video below for more details, and I hope you enjoy this idea!

I did a little stamping on the 6x8 album cover with the Zoo Babies stamp set and regular Classic Ink Pads.

Watch the VIDEO BELOW for more info on my Baby Girl Album Gift:

If you cannot view the video above, click here to see it on my YouTube channel.

As mentioned in the video above, this Hello Baby Girl Project Life card collection pack comes with 100 cards, and 12 of them have the months on them, as you'll see in these photos.  It makes such a great quick album to record memories and photos for the baby's first year!

I did offer to make her 2 identical books, in case she wanted a book for each baby, but she said one book for photos of the 2 of them would be great.  We talked about how fun it is to take photos of your little one in the same chair, or with the same toy each month to see their growth, like I did with our son Jason, 25 years ago:

Fancy Folds Blog Hop - Gate Fold Card

Fancy folds blog hop banner

Once again I am thrilled to be a part of the international Fancy Folds Design Team, bringing you another blog hop featuring a Gate Fold Card!  Our design team, comprised of demonstrators from all over the world are each sharing their version of a Gate Fold Card with you this month!  Be sure to visit all of the blogs listed at the bottom of this post to see them all!

My version of a Gate Fold Card features the Stampin' Up! Cups & Kettles framelit dies and the Birthday Bouquet Designer Series paper, both found in the 2016 Occasions catalog.

Create a Gate Fold card featuring Cups and Kettles framelit dies and Birthday Bouquet floral designer paper from Stampin' Up! Card by Patty Bennett

For my version of the Gate Fold Card, I drew inspiration from an antique cup and saucer that I have had in my china cabinet for a long time.  I have been wanting to die cut the teapot and teacup out of the beautiful floral pattern in the Stampin' UP! Birthday Bouquet paper package for a couple of months now, and this seemed the perfect project to do that!!

If you have not made a Gate Fold Card yet, the basic directions are simple, then it's up to you for how you'd like to embellish it!

1.  Start with a 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" piece of cardstock and score it at 2-1/8" and 6-3/8"

2.  Using a bone folder, fold the 2 side flaps inward

3.  Cut designer paper or stamped cardstock to layer onto the side panels.

4.  Embellish your Gate Fold card with any stamped or die cut pieces of your choice.

Dimensions for my pieces are shown in the graphic below:

How to Create a Gate Fold card featuring Cups and Kettles framelit dies and Birthday Bouquet floral designer paper from Stampin' Up! Card by Patty Bennett

I think the natural thing to do would have been to put the teapot on the left fold and the teacup on the right fold, but then you wouldn't be able to open up the card very well, so I adhered them both to the left fold, with Stampin' Dimensionals.

To make them a little stiffer than just designer paper, I also die cut them with Thick Whisper White cardstock and then glued the 2 layers together with Tombo Multipurpose Glue.  That worked out really well!

Below is what my Gate Fold card looks like when it's open.  I used stamps from the Birthday Blooms set on both the front and inside of my card.  I LOVE this set!!  (see it on pg 9 of the Occasions catalog).

The Cups & Kettles framelit die set is one of my favorites in the Occasions catalog.  Have you played with it yet? It's so perfect for a little girls tea party or a lovely greeting card for a friend!

Create a Gate Fold card featuring Cups and Kettles framelit dies and Birthday Bouquet floral designer paper from Stampin' Up! Card by Patty Bennett

I lightly stamped the pretty flower stamp from Birthday Blooms in the background on the front panels with Blushing Bride ink.  Those stamped panels are mounted onto Mossy Meadow polkadot paper from the In Color paper stack, and it's all on a folded Blushing Bride folded card.

I love the little knife, fork and spoon in the Cups & Kettles framelit die set, and they are just perfect when die cut with the Silver foil paper!!  I put one on a piece of a doily.. I just thought it was sweeeet!

I thought this Bear Hugs FRIEND card was very fitting for this blog hop, since Kylie and her husband Bruno have become our friends!  It was fun to have a room right next to them on our Stampin' Up! Hawaii trip last year!  I really enjoy getting to know demonstrators from all over the world!!  And am happy to call them both my FRIEND! :)

This is Kylie and Bruno on their balcony in Hawaii, next door to our balcony!

My big brown bear is holding a whole bouquet of balloons on this fun card!  You could use this card for a birthday, get well, "just because", congrats or anything!!

The balloons are stamped in Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo and Calypso Coral. I love how the colors mix when the balloons overlap!  I used the outline portion of the stamp in Archival Basic Black ink to really make the balloons Pop!  (no pun intended!!) :)

All of the sweet little flowers are stamps from the Bear Hugs stamp set, just stamped over and over in Archival Black ink, then colored in with Stampin' Write markers.  See all supplies listed at the bottom of this post.

I stamped Mr. Brown Bear in Archival Black ink on Very Vanilla cardstock, then lightly sponged on some Soft Suede color.  He is die cut with the Bear Hugs framelit dies.   The stamps and dies are also offered in a bundle at a 15% discount!

Hey, I just thought of this.. I think I'll name my bear Bruno in honor of Kylie's hubby! He's on this blog hop too, so please be sure to visit him, and everyone on the list!

Fancy Folds Blog Hop - Easel Card

Fancy folds blog hop banner

What an honor to be asked to participate on a global design team in a blog hop featuring Fancy Folds cards!  My friend Patrice Halliday-Larsen from New Zealand asked me to be a part of this fun new team!  Our cards today feature the Easel style card.

I am participating in a blog hop with 7 other Stampin' Up! demonstrators from all over the world.. I hope you enjoy the tour and visit each blog for more Easel Card design ideas!

Easel Card Fancy Fold design featuring the Stampin' Up! hostess set called Best Thoughts. Going Places designer paper and the Wink of Stella pen are perfect accessories. card by Patty Bennett at www.PattyStamps.com

My card starts out as a 4-1/4" x 8-1/2" card.  You can find full Easel Card instructions in the video below in this blog post!

BELOW: The great part about this card is that you can stand it up to display and enjoy the artwork on the card front, but also easily fold it flat to mail it!

Easel Card Fancy Fold design featuring the Stampin' Up! hostess set called Best Thoughts. Going Places designer paper and the Wink of Stella pen are perfect accessories. card by Patty Bennett at www.PattyStamps.com

Isn't that great that it just folds flat for mailing!?

Watch my video below for cutting and folding instructions for the Easel Card.

If you have trouble viewing the video, see it HERE on YouTube.

My 2 secret weapons for coloring this card are the Stampin' UP! AquaPainter and the Clear Wink of Stella pen.  The AquaPainter helps flow the ink color on the pretty floral stamp from the Best Thoughts hostess set from Stampin' Up!, and the Wink of Stella pen gives a pretty shimmery shine to the finished artwork!  I have a video tutorial for this type of watercoloring HERE.

I love the bold contrast of the Mossy Meadow "grid paper" pattern and the black and white script pattern, with the beautiful flower! Both paper strips were from the Going Places paper stack, found on pg 39 of the 2016 Occasions Catalog.

Remember, the hostess sets can only be purchased with hostess dollars. You can earn those with any order of $150 or more.

The squiggle border stamp is from the Tin of Card stamp set and the Thank You is found in the Rose Wonder stamp set.  If you are in the US, all items may be purchased in my online store.. all Stampin' Up! product shopping links are at the bottom of this post.

In my stamping world, the only thing better than a stamp image with a matching punch is a stamp image with a matching Big Shot framelit!! :)  How cute are these pumpkins!?  I used the new Sparkly Seasons stamp set and matching Seasonal Frame thinlits to die cut the pumpkin, stems and "spooky".   The pumpkins are stamped in Tangerine Tango on Tangerine Tango cardstock.

Wondering about the cute polkadot background? I used a card from a past Paper Pumpkin kit - it was black and white - and I brayered it with Tangerine Tango ink! :)

If you've been waiting for the perfect adhesive for delicate items like the Spooky die cut... check out the new Fine-Tip Glue Pen on page 43 of the Holiday catalog... oh my... it is such a wonderful way to adhere your fine, small or delicate items to your crafting projects!

The paper I have featured in my projects today can be found on pg 47 of the Holiday catalog.. it's called Happy Haunting!

Dsp happy haunting stampin up pattystamps halloweeen

For this fun "BOO" black glimmer paper card, I took a piece of Basic Black cardstock cut at 4-1/4" x 11" and scored it at 2-3/4" and 5-1/2" to create a fun side fold card design.

  Sparkly-seasons-stampin-up-pumpkin-witch-hat-card-black-glimmer-paper-halloween-pattystamps

The Black Glimmer paper might be easily missed on pg 47... so DON"T MISS IT! :)

How fun is this glimmery black witch hat and "BOO" die cut!?

I used the Boo to You framelits (pg 49) for these cute glimmery black die cuts.

The big pumpkin is stamped with the same supplies as my first card, and the little pumpkin is found in the Howl-o-ween Treat set (pg 49) and die cut with the Boo to You framelits.
