Blendabilities Update:

I am VERY Sad to share this news with you - The Blendabilities Product Line has been Discontinued.  I know.. I think we all need a moment to take that in.

  • As I shared with you last week, the Blendabilities markers have been experiencing defect issues, namely that many of the markers arrived dry to the customers.
  • In a nutshell, the manufacturer is unable to correct the problem and provide Stampin' Up! with a solution. Therefore the product line has been discontinued.
  • The good news is that Stampin' Up! is committed to ONLY selling the BEST products available, so rather than ship a defective product and continue to send replacements, they have made this decision.
  • The Memento Black Ink pad and refill will still be available (and that's great news because it's a fabulous black pad!)
  • What should you do?

            1.  If you currently have a pack of Blendabilities on backorder that you purchased, do nothing, you will receive a refund from Stampin' Up! within the next month.

            2.  If you have selected a free pack of Blendabilities from hostess rewards or from a Sale a Bration choice  and they are on backorder or defective, please complete the survey (CLICK HERE) - have your original order number handy - and you will be able to select a replacement Sale a Bration or hostess item. 

            3. If you feel you have a defective package of Blendabilities, please contact Stampin' Up! Demo Support at 1 800 STAMPUP.

            4. If you need ideas for coloring your images, we still have our great Stampin' Write Markers here, our Blender Pens here, and our AquaPainters sold here to use with your Stampin' Up! ink pads.  

 

Note: due to the unavailability of the Blendabilities as part of the advertised Sale a Bration offering, some of the other 14 Sale a Bration products MAY run out.. stamp sets will be available through 3/31/15, but the other items MAY risk selling out.

Pirate Map Birthday Card

After stamping the pirate in Memento Black ink on Very Vanilla cardstock, I colored him with my Stampin' Up! Blendabilities markers.  I love how smooth they are.. oh my.. they are a breeze to color with!

I had lots of fun combining the World Map background stamp and the Open Sea stamp set plus a couple pieces of the Typeset DSP for the background pieces.  I ripped and sponged all the edges and then used the Spiral Border punch to punch the edges of the pieces.  All stamping and sponging was done with Soft Suede ink.

Valentine's Mini Treat Bag

It's February!!!

That means it's time to finish up making your treats, little gifts and tokens of love for Valentine's Day!

How about these super easy Treat Bags created with the Mini Treat Bag Framelit and your Big Shot from Stampin' Up!?

What would you put in one? Gift Card? Candy Bar? Love Note?

You could leave the image uncolored and include a small pack of crayons for the recipient to color it! :)

I used some of the paper in my FREE Best Year Ever Sale a Bration package to create the little bag.. although they are just dots, they kind of look like bubbles... right?

I stamped the cute Hey, Valentine fishies from the Hey, Valentine stamp set in memento black ink on Whisper White cardstock, then colored them with Blendabilities markers from Stampin' Up!   Does coloring just take you back to your childhood!? It does for me... and why I remember that Burnt Sienna was my fave color is beyond me!   But anyway.. back to this cute project...

Valentine Pencil Topper Treats

Need a cute, quick and easy project for a Valentine's Treat!?

Check out the Dollar Spot at Target for bargains on CUTE Pencils, then stamp and decorate them with the Stampin' UP! Hey, Valentine stamp set!

 I stamped them with the Memento Black ink pad on Whisper White cardstock, colored them with Stampin' UP! Blendabilities Markers, then cut them out, punched holes and slipped them onto pencils.

Twitterpated Heart Washi Tape Card

as you can see, one of the meanings is smitten.. and Yes, I think I'm smitten with this Black and White Washi Tape!!

I hope you enjoy this idea, too!

I think it would make a delightful Valentine!

For this sweet little Whisper White note card, I covered the front of the note card with "Stacked With Love" Washi Tape - see photos below for "HOW TO", (from pg 5 of the new 2015 Stampin' Up! Occasions catalog) and then cut another card front piece the same size, punched and die cut hearts in it, then added that on to the card with lots of Stampin' Dimensionals!

A couple of ways I embellished the card front:

1.  stamped Twitterpated from the You Plus Me stamp set (pg 5)

2.  added 2 little epoxy sticker hearts (pg 28) colored with Blendabilities

3. drew a border with my Real Red Stampin' Write marker around the edge

Do you love the little Itty Bitty Accents epoxy stickers!?  Hearts, Stars and circles, 2 sizes, color them any color you wish with Blendabilities Markers!

A nice finishing touch on a white card:  draw a border around the edge.  You can find drafting triangles at Staples.. I like them because of the little raised lip .. it won't suck the ink under the surface.

Gift Box Punch Board Christmas Boxes

Have you tried out the Gift Box Punch Board from Stampin' Up!?  It was introduced in the Holiday Catalog a few months ago. You can find it on page 5 or HERE in my online store. I love that you can make so many different sizes and shapes of boxes with it!!

My best tip is.. get the Under the Tree heavy weight designer paper for your boxes (pg 5 of the Holiday Catalog) .. it works great for scoring and folding these boxes.

Here is a green box I made when I was stamping one day at Cindee's house.. we made boxes and then created tags.. I used the Santa Stache stamp set to create a nutcracker tag on the Kraft paper (pg 192 in the annual catalog). I colored it with Blendabilities.. I would say that Blendabilities probably look nicer on Whisper White cardstock, but, I do love how this turned out!

 I used the Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler and Smoky Slate Blendabilities markers to color in the stamped Nutcracker.  I stamped the mustache a 2nd time and die cut it with the Mustache framelit and added it to the tag with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Today's Stampin' Up! card features the Hostess set called Bloom with Hope, and I colored it with 3 different sets of Blendabilities Markers.. .Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Skin Tones.  I enjoyed blending colors from all of those packages on the stamped flower images.  Remember, when you are coloring with Blendabilties, be sure your image is stamped with a Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad on Whisper White cardstock for best results.

 I die cut a flower using the Flower Fair framelit set and some scraps of designer series paper from the Moonlight Paper Stack - in fact the great bold striped background is from the same pack!  I added punched out pieces for the flower center (see product photos below for more info/ordering links).  A Candy Dot is the perfect last embellishment on the card.  Kind of like the period at the end of the sentence.. right?

Is it a Christmas Card? or just a pretty flower Card?

When I made this card last summer, my friends all said

"it looks like a Christmas card"..

so I waited until now to show it you you all!

What do you think.. could this be a Christmas card?

 I stamped this BEAUTIFUL flower from one of the Stampin' Up! hostess sets with the Tuxedo Black Memento ink pad, on Whisper White paper, then colored it with my Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities markers!  I colored the leaves with the Old Olive markers and cut them both out by hand.  My Blendabilities Video Tutorials are on my YouTube Channel here if you need a few tips for coloring.

The Gold Fancy Designer Vellum comes in a package with 2 sheets of each design shown at left: stripes, polka dots and hearts.  The sheets are 12" x 12" so if you cut them like I did for the card above at 4" or less by 5" or 5-1/4" you will have enough to make 36 cards out of one pack!

I cut the gold striped vellum at 3-3/4" x 5" and layered it onto a piece of Cherry Cobbler cut at 4" x 5-1/4" and layered that onto a folded Whisper White card. TIP: be sure to only add your adhesive behind the solid gold areas.. not behind the vellum portion... the adhesive will show there.

 

Finishing off this card is a small strip of Gold Glimmer Paper (#133719) and Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding ribbon.

Yep Double Duty!!  I used Stampin' UP! Blendabilities Markers both in the background (to color the black and white  Back to Black DSP) and to color in the outline images of the Vivid Vase stamp for a colorful focal point on my card!

I stamped the Vivid Vases stamp on Whisper White cardstock with my Memento Black ink pad and colored it with Blendabilities markers, too. 

Maybe it's a childhood thing.. but I still love to color... so this is a very relaxing kind of card for me to create.  How about you... do you love to color too?

I Mustache You a Question...

I made this cute treat bag this weekend and then I saw the Mustache Framelit on sale so I couldn't resist blogging this even though we are still in October! :)  You can find these great poly-lined Cafe treat bags on page 10 of the Stampin' Up! Holiday catalog.. They are 8" tall and hold lots of fab goodies for any occasion, and you get 10 in a package for only $5.95! (#135826, order yours here).  I covered the front of the bag with a scrap of paper from my Nordic Noel paper package (pg 15 Holiday catalog #135822).

THEN comes the fun part... the Nutcracker tag!!  I stamped Mr. Nutcracker from the Santa Stache stamp set on a 2" wide piece of Whisper White cardstock (punched with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch) using the Memento Black ink pad, then colored him with Stampin' Up! Blendabilities markers!  I stamped the mustache portion a 2nd time on a scrap and die cut it with my Mustache framelit (#133741)... ok.. I ask you .. is he fun or what!?

You guessed it..  I colored the Nutcracker with Stampin' Up! Blendabilities markers!!  LOVE those markers.. and of course I LOVE to color, too!  For Blendabilities video tutorials, view my YouTube Blendabilities playlist.

Here is a fun photo of our Blendablitites class on Saturday.. we had a great time and most of the gals didn't want to stop coloring!! I can so relate!

Blendabilities Markers on Antique Brads!

Not only is this card beautiful because the flower is colored with Blendabilities Markers from Stampin' Up!, but... I also embellished it with some really great products, including... coloring on Antique Brads with Blendabilities!!

Don't you love it!?

This sweet little 4x4 card features a Crushed Curry Folded card with a piece of Typeset Designer paper on top, sponged with some Crushed Curry ink.   I stamped the flower image from the Bloom with Hope Hostess set on a die cut from the Chalk Talk Framelit set with the Black Memento ink pad and then colored it with Daffodil Delight and Tangerine Tango Blendabilites markers.

The Ribbon is beautiful also.. Mossy Meadow 3/8" stitched Satin Ribbon found on pg 207 of the catalog.

So as I mentioned above, I colored on the Antique Brads with my Blendabilities markers... aren't they pretty!?  It adds such a nice patina!

Seasonally Scattered Thanks Card

Background Sponging Technique Thanks card

I love this new Seasonally Scattered stamp set from pg 43 of the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog!  Have you seen it!?  Flip to page 43 because I want to tell you something about it....  do you see how the LOVE and MERRY images look smaller?? Well, they are NOT smaller.. they are shown at 1/2 size... all 3 stamps in that set are the same size as the THANKS image!!  I was a little confused at first when I saw the images and didn't read the fine print, so I didn't want you to be confused too! :)

So this was the Thank You card I used for some customer orders last month.. I know that almost everyone who received one emailed me to say they liked it.. that made my heart so happy!  I was inspired by a swap card I received from Cindy Henry in our Luv 2 Stamp Group!

eeeeks.. have you noticed this new Embossing Folder on page 15 of the Holiday Catalog!?  aaaaaaaah I love it!!!  It's called Filigree Frame!  FABULOUS!

I embossed the Blackberry Bliss layer with that new embossing folder and then layered it onto a folded Hello Honey card.  PRETTY PRETTY!

If you haven't guessed by now, one of my most used punches is the Itty Bitty Accents trio of punches, and specifically this darling little flower!

 Our tour this month showcases cards that are Simple yet Elegant, or "Flat and Fabulous".. perhaps 1 or 2 layer cards without lots of embellishing...  we hope you enjoy this tour!   You have probably reached me after visiting Heidi Baks fantabulous blog, and if not, be sure to travel backwards on the tour and visit her! :) This month I'm a Heidi Sandwich... I'm sandwiched between 2 amazing Heidi's!!! :)

Card #1: Corner Garden Stamp

My first card uses a new background stamp called Corner Garden in a very different way!  I had not thought about turning this stamp on its side but I like it!

If you are looking for it, it's on pg 175 in the current Stampin' UP! Catalog.

After stamping the background stamp on Whisper White in Calypso Coral (my current fave Stampin' Up! color), I stamped the stamp again in Black Memento ink onto Whisper White and colored in the largest flower with Calypso Coral Blendabilities markers and then cut it out with my nice sharp paper snips, added petals with the Beautiful Bunch set stamped in Old Olive on Old Olive cardstock and punched with the Fun Flower punch, then added that to the card. The Thanks a Bunch stamp is from the Occasions 4 You set, pg 8.

Simple, yet elegant... don't you think?

You can see the Blendabilities colors I used for the flower.. the 3 Calypso Coral Blendabilities markers plus the Blush (skin tone) marker and the Color Lifter. (Yep, this card was for a swap.. in fact it was for a Control Freaks Swap!)

Card #2: Bloom with Hope Hostess Stamp

My second card features a hostess set called Bloom with Hope  colored with Blendabilities markers.

I think the Stylish Stripes embossing folder background, white on white, really makes this card beautiful and elegant.  I also like the sponging effect around the edge of the tag... I used both Tangerine Tango and Daffodil Delight to sponge the edges.

After stamping the flower with Memento Black ink on Whisper White cardstock, I colored it with Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight markers with some brown in the center from the Skin Tone assortment.  I used my Scalloped Tag Topper punch to make this a pretty tag focal point.
