I have a fabulous technique for you today!  This was shared by one of my Luv 2 Stamp Group demonstrators, Janet from Kansas!  Thank you Janet for sharing this cool technique!

WAXED PAPER RESIST TECHNIQUE!

Supplies you'll need:

Brayer #102395

ink pad of your choice

Glossy paper #102599**

(eeek gads.. it's sold out!

embossing folder

waxed paper

The card above was made with Marina Mist ink, but look how beautiful this technique is with Perfect Plum ink!

STEP BY STEP HOW TO CREATE WAXED PAPER RESIST

(see video above)

STEP 1:

cut waxed paper to about 4-1/2"x6" (slightly larger than your card front)

STEP 2:

Place waxed paper in an embossing folder, and run through the Big Shot

STEP 3:

on your ironing board, place a piece of copy paper/computer paper, then place a piece of Glossy Cardstock, glossy side up, place the embossed waxed paper on top, then another piece of copy paper over that.  Iron on COTTON SETTING (NO STEAM) for a few seconds.. do not rub (see video)

STEP 4:

ink your brayer with desired color, then roll onto glossy cardstock that has the waxed paper design on it

STEP 5:

use a kleenex or paper towel and rub off any excess ink

DONE! use your background on your card or project

Try two colors!

Try other embossing folders!

Have fun!

** I am sad that the Glossy White cardstock has sold out, however, I'm HAPPY TO REPORT that you can do this technique with Shimmery White cardstock (#101910) and with Whisper White Cardstock (#100730) both from Stampin' Up!

EDITED TO ADD 5/22/13: several people have emailed me to say that you can also try Photo Paper (from office supply stores) if you are out of glossy paper... thank you everyone!
