I'm not sure... but I **THINK** this could quite possibly be one of my most favorite crafty things I've ever created!!
I had a blast die cutting dresses with the new Stampin' Up! DRESS UP FRAMELITS and created this fun framed art using the new HUNG UP CUTE CLIPS hangers!
WHERE TO FIND THE SUPPLIES:
Cute Clips Hangers, pg 28 Stampin' Up! Spring catalog, #129389, or SHOP ONLINE HERE
Dress Up Framelits, pg 32 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog,#130101, or SHOP ONLINE HERE
I thought you might like to see a couple of close ups of the dresses and what i used to embellish them...
here we go:
So, how fun is that... use a piece of the English Ivy Stationery (big catalog, pg 147, #127538) for the apron in this cute little sundress?
The waist is all tied up with some Rose Red Seam Binding ribbon, pg 172, #121884
The Dress is die cut with the Dress Up Framelit, #130101 and the new More Amore DSP, Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog, pg 10, #129309
or email me with questions:
Any guesses what I used for the dress??? It's the Hello Doily Stamp, embossed in white and sponged with Wisteria Wonder ink... SEE THIS VIDEO for the technique. When done, die cut with the Dress Up Framelit and tie the Wisteria Ribbon around the waist! Hello Doily stamp, pg 110, #122845
So, how cute is THIS!!? ... I dyed a new Paper Doily (pg 5 in the Spring Catalog, #129399) and die cut it with the Dress UP die, then added a strip of the (oh my gosh gorgeous) Delicate Details Lace Tape! (Spring catalog, pg 3, #130966) for the apron in this cute little dress!
The Dress is die cut with the Dress Up Framelit, #130101 and the new Sunshine and Sprinkles DSP, Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog, pg 28, #126922
I dyed a vintage flower from the new 5/8" Flower Trim package and added it to the dress. (Spring catalog pg 5, #126869)
Stay tuned for more info on dying the flowers and doilies.
I can't believe how much I am loving the new Sunshine & Sprinkles DSP.. I didn't think I'd need it... but it's too cute!
The Dress is die cut with the Dress Up Framelit, #130101 and the new Sunshine and Sprinkles DSP, Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog, pg 28, #126922
I stamped the label image from Everything Eleanor (big catalog, pg 112, #124162) in Lucky LImeade, and then die cut it with the Dress Up framelit to add to the polkadot dress!!
ok.. seriously... HOW CUTE IS THIS?
tie up the waist with Lucky Limeade Ribbon! (pg 172, #122977)

The Apron is a piece I had stamped embossed in white then watercolored over .. I had it sitting on my desk for months.. so i cut it up and used it as an apron!! I stamped it with the Delicate Doilies stamp set (pg 110, #122590)
Ok, if you are still with me... which one do you like best? Leave me a comment if you have time. I hope you check back again later this week.. I made another frame with 5 more dresses and will be posting the other frame soon!

Hi Patty - If I had to choose 1 it would be the last one with the blue flower at the waist. That would be my favorite but I love them all!

Patty, your frame is adorable. The dresses are all cute but I would have to say I like the middle one the best. I thought you might like to see the project that I just made with the fabric and dies. Here is the link to it. Have a great day! Elaine

Patty ~ all five dresses are so cute and hard to pick one, but I would say the Hello Doily/Wisteria Wonder dress. Such a clever way to make the "fabric" of the dress. I'm going to make your framed art for my 11 year old Granddaughter who designs clothes all the time. She just designed 4 different wedding dresses for her Uncle's fiance ~ yes she's 11 and the designs are amazing. Thanks for sharing your fabulous talents !!

Patty you out do yourself. I love love love this project. I can't really pick a favorite but green is my favorite color. I have ordered these dies and can't wait to get my hands on them.

OMG...WOW...WOW!!! This is the absolute cutest thing EVER!!! I love how you dressed up the dresses!! They look amazing in the frame. I was on the fence about buying the die for the dress but now I've got to get it! You enabler! :0)

Those are just ADORABLE! Perfect for a little girl's room, or a powder room . . . They certainly will be CASED!

I love all 5 dresses. I have 3 favorites, white lace with Wisteria, Pink with all the lace and the green one. IT is such a cute idea but you always have good ideas.

Patti:
These are alll so GREAT! I can't pick a favorite--but I pick YOU as so wonderful to share them all with us.
Off to Walmart to find some frames!!!
Thanks again, Nola

I can see why this might be your favorite project because it's just gorgeous. I love them all but I am in a pink kinda mood so the pink one with the flower on the shoulder would be my favorite if I HAD to pick just one. Thanks for the inspiration (and enabling )
Posted by: Andrea | January 15, 2013 at 02:50 PM
And it may be MY favorite thing you've created! Great outside the box idea for those framelits to show they go beyond the pop card. Can you say "making me want this?"
Posted by: Catherine Harwood | January 15, 2013 at 02:58 PM
GREAT project!!!! Love all the details and thanks for all the up close photos!!
Posted by: Wanda G (stampcat) | January 15, 2013 at 03:38 PM
I am more of a traditional card maker but you got my attention on this one. I don't have a favorite. Each has it's unique touch. My sisters tease me about how all I did as a child was play with paper dolls! I can see this as a great accessory on the wall of a girlie girl bedroom. I also thought of people confined to their bedroom enjoying this as a fun and memory creating wall piece. You are amazing!
Posted by: facsmom | January 15, 2013 at 03:54 PM
Those are great, PattY!!! I think I like that last one best.
Posted by: Tory B | January 15, 2013 at 04:13 PM
Absolutely fabulous design. I love the frame of five and then five each so different and with the use of so many little bits of products. Thank you for sharing! Can't wait to see your other frame of five!!!

They're all so cute, I can't decide a favorite - maybe the far left one. The Lucky Limeade one is growing on me, too.
Posted by: Susan Carlson | January 15, 2013 at 06:03 PM
That came out really cute! Love it! Thanks for sharing!
Posted by: Tina Iliff | January 15, 2013 at 06:28 PM
They're all adorable Patty. My fav's are the Wisteria Wonder using the Doily Stamp and the one you did with the Everything Eleanor. Very clever, I really want to try this idea. Thanks for sharing Patty, can hardly wait til you post the other one! Hugs, Julia

I remember, as a child, playing with Paper Dolls. Love how you framed your dresses. Lots of creativity in this project, Patty. I'm always amazed at your talent--don't know where you get all your ideas...but so glad that you share them with us!

Love this! Can't wait to play dress designer (will be perfect to make a frame to hang on the wall in my new crafting corner!)... this project reminds me of a book I had to read in school called The Hundred Dresses :) check it out...

This is a wonderful, creative project idea. I have ordered the stamp and framelits and I will definitely be making one of these too. My favorite is the Wisteria dress but all of them are very unique and creative. Thank you for sharing. And yes, I do also think you should submit to Stampin Up.

Hi Patty,
First of all, I love all of the dresses. I did dresses last year for birthday cards using a pattern I drew. These are nicer! My favorite is the one with the big flower.
Now, I keep seeing cards in the stores that are made to look like homemade cards, even using what looks like STampin'Up! punches. I like to get inspiration from the pharmacy cards. One that I love is a congratulations on a new baby. In the center is a baby shirt with a wire hanger, which I had not been able to duplicate. So glad SU! is selling them. :)
Posted by: Shala | January 15, 2013 at 08:14 PM
I love them all, but I would say my 1st choice is the embossed doily with Wisteria Wonder. The 2nd would be the Lucky Limeade using the Everything Eleanor label for the apron. I don't care for the color so much, but I definitely like using the label from that set! Don't take it personally about the color. I haven't liked the Lucky Limeade from day one. It's nothing you did with it.... Great job, as always!

Patty, beautiful work. You inspire me! I love the Wisteria Wonder dress. I'm hoping we keep that color with our (minor) color renovation this year.

Ok, you just completely changed my mind about those little paper clip thingys. That dress project is SO cute and would look darling in my mom's sewing room. I could do it time for Mother's Day and it would be the perfect gift. I hope you don't mind if I recreate it. Thanks for sharing!
Posted by: Alyssa | January 16, 2013 at 10:10 AM
I absolutely love this project!! The first three dresses are my faves...maybe the Wisteria/Hello Doily one is the one I like very best? becuse it reminds me of an eyelet dress I would love to make my daughter, haha!
Posted by: Tanya H | January 16, 2013 at 10:27 AM
