Tower of the Americas, San Antonio, TX

 

On our visit to San Antonio for the Stampin' Up! Leadership Conference, I wanted to go up the 750 foot tall Tower of the Americas.  Gloria and I went to the top in the super fast elevator and enjoyed taking photos of the surrounding area. What a fun experience!

 

I know one thing is for sure... San Antonio is VERY FLAT...

Wow.. after many full days here in San Antonio for the Stampin' Up! Leadership Conference, I just had to share a sampling of the 1500 photos I took.. yes, 1500 in 4 days.  :)

We spent each evening outdoors walking around the city and exploring.. from the Tower of the Americas to they city Riverwalk, to the Alamo and more... so I hope you will enjoy these photos from our walking excursions and our river boat ride around San Antonio!

The gorgeous Riverwalk in San Antonio.. it's like walking in the Pirates of the Caribbean :)

We took a river boat (taxi) on the 30 minute tour on our 2nd night in San Antonio... it was very informative and really fun!

I was fascinated by the beautiful top of the Emily Morgan hotel.. i just loved the architecture and the lighting at night! (Just ask Steph and Cindee.. they patiently waited while I kept taking photos of it)

Going across the bay bridge to San Francisco is something we don't do nearly often enough even though we are less than 25 miles to downtown...

but we always make a point to go on Columbus Day weekend to see the Blue Angels during Fleet Week!

Eric and Jason and I went for the day and Jason and I took about 400 photos in 90 minutes.. we both love photography, but getting great shots of fighter jets going 400mph to 700mph is not easy!

Enjoy these photos we took .. I enjoyed making 12x12 scrapbook pages with them using My Digital Studio.

Have you ever been standing right under a F/A-18 Fighter Jet when it goes SUPER SONIC and breaks the sound barrier????????? let me tell you.. it's one of the COOLEST things ever...

Signs of ... Fall??? {looks more like Spring!}

I had to giggle the other day when my dear friend Janice from IL emailed me and asked if we had fall colors in our leaves yet...  here in the San Francisco bay area, fall comes around Christmas time... we are still VERY green, and in fact, due to the recent rain and warm weather, my roses are sprouting all new growth again!

Here is a bouquet I picked from my garden this week:

My roses think it's April... not October!

My bouquet is on my desk where I can enjoy it each day..

So as you can see... not any fall colors here, Janice... :)

Remembering.... 9/11

Remembering those who lost their lives in the tragedy on 9/11/01, thankful for those who defend our country, and grateful for our wonderful nation!

Happy 4th of July from the County Fair

We took a trip to the county fair last week.... it's an annual tradition for us... here are some of my pix.. funny how they seem to revolve around flowers and food... :)

It was a weekend full of graduations, celebrations, parties, dinners, and fun!!

Ashley is like a daughter to us... she is our best friend's granddaughter and we've known her for about 15 years.  She graduated from High School this weekend, and I had the pleasure of doing a "cap & gown photo shoot" for her last week!

Of course I had to make a "collage" in My Digital Studio for her!

Here is a box I decorated for her using the Simple Letters Alphabet dies and the Big Shot.  She wanted a wallet so that's what is inside the box.

I added some Fabulous Florets flowers to the box to dress it up.

I made several custom Graduation cards for the graduates this weekend, using My Digital Studio.. of course!

It was quick and easy to customize school colors, school name, etc. using My Digital Studio!

Congrats, Ashley... we love you and wish you all of God's Blessings as you venture on in life!

Happy Mother's Day from my Garden!

Wishing all my friends who are moms a wonderful day today!!  Here are some pretties from my garden for you and a little tribute to my mom!  Have a beautiful day!

Easter Happies from my Garden

Wishing you each a truly glorious Easter as we celebrate the Risen Lord and enjoy the beautiful spring weather and blooming flowers!

I picked a bouquet of roses and asltromeria from my garden last week and made an Easter Greeting for you using MY DIGITAL STUDIO.

A couple weekends ago we took a stroll along the shoreline about a mile from our home... we live on the San Francisco Bay ... it was fun to take a bunch of photos and just enjoy the sunshine, water, wildlife, flowers and each other.

Spring Flower Photos

Many of you have asked for more pix from my garden... I have a few things blooming but no roses yet... they are usually in full force for Mother's Day.

My wisteria and Star Jasmine are blooming though.. so I thought I'd show you some pix I took this week in my garden. These were taken using my Nikon P90 camera.. it's a point n shoot camera with an AWESOME zoom :)

Friends Never Fade 12x12 Flower Scrapbook page

I had to scrapbook these flower photos that I took this week.. some were taken in my garden (the 2 on the right) and the other 2 were taken in our neighborhood. Spring is on the way!! My roses will be next ...

I made this page using My Digital Studio - the awesome digital solutions program from Stampin' Up!

I used the 12x12 template from Stampin' Up! that was part of the Friends Never Fade download ... this is how it started and you can see I added a few more flowers and 3 more photoboxes :)

Stampin' Up! just released a FREE Update for MDS.. If you have purchased the packaged version of My Digital Studio, please run the free update.  Open MDS, and simply click "Help" and select "Check for Updates" in the My Digital Studio software. The update will be performed automatically.  It took quite awihle to update.. it was a large download.

Mustard Seed Flower Hillside - My Digital Studio

I have been driving by this GORGEOUS hillside for weeks and finally brought my camera to take some photos.... then of course that means I HAVE to play with My Digital Studio from Stampin' Up! to make some 12x12 scrapbook pages... right??  :)
