Rather than make green flowers (which come in the kit) I decided to cut the green flowers apart and use them as leaves. I used the brads from the pop up posies kit for the centers of some flowers.

WELCOME to the January 2013 Control Freaks Blog Tour!!!
We are excited to bring you delightful
Stampin' UP! 2013
Sale a Bration ideas
in the tour this month!!
Sale a Bration starts on
TUESDAY, Jan. 22!
You have probably joined me after visiting Cindy's wonderful blog, and you can click on the "next blog" link at the bottom of the post to continue on the tour.
My first project was a card I made for Cindee's birthday. I love the bright springy colors.. reminds me of my bedroom when I was about 10 or 12 :)
This card features the super-cool FREE NOTECARDS and Envelopes you can earn FREE during Stampin' Up!'s Sale a Bration 2013 with your $50 purchase. The packet is called HAPPY HELLO (#130149) and you get 8 printed notecards, 8 envelopes, baker's twine, rhinestones and self adhesive die cut flowers. I have added a Calypso Coral flower from the Pop-Up Posies kit (pg 18 in the Spring Catalog, #131395). (side note: I added a 4-1/4"x 5-1/2" piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock to the back of the card and a piece of DSP from Parker's Patterns - the yellow chevrons).
Do you want to know how I made this tag?? Cindee taught me this.. fold your cardstock in 1/2 and then run it in your big shot with the tag framelit as shown below, then unfold your tag! Too cool! I found it helps to burnish the folded line with my Bone Folder.
Hearts a Flutter Tag Framelits, pg 11 Spring Catalog or HERE ONLINE.
Next Up... HELLO>>> are you there? How about a fun English Phone Booth.. cute way to stay in touch with a friend! This fun stamp comes from the FEELING SENTIMENTAL stamp set.. yours FREE during Sale a Bration! I colored directly on the rubber with my Real Red and Early Espresso Stampin' Write markers. I also used the FREE PETITE CURLY LABEL PUNCH (#129405) .. another GREAT free Sale a Bration item you can earn with your $50 purchase from Jan. 22 to March 22. I used my free little punch to punch out the HELLO greeting.. YET ANOTHER cute FREE item .. it's from the Sale a Bration set called PRETTY PETITES (#129639 / 129642)
I embossed the Pool Party background piece with the new Cloudy Day embossing folder, found on pg 28 of the Spring Catalog (#127022). It's mounted on a 4-1/4" square Real Red Card. I also spritzed a few dots onto the phone booth die cut with the Stampin' Up! Color Spritzter Tool (#107066) and my Early Espresso marker.
You can place your order by clicking any of the shop online buttons on my blog and typing in the ordering codes found in this blog post. Questions? email me. PattyStamps@comcast.net
Have you used the new Creped Filter Paper from the Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog yet? (you'll find it on pg 6). It's easy to work with and although it seems really thin, it's fabulously durable (and super inexpensive!)!
Here is a card I created and embellished with the creped filter paper flower.
I love how the Thank You tag turned out...I stamped Whisper White Cardstock with Calypso Coral ink and the new oval stamp from Oh Hello (I stamped off onto scratch paper first), and then die cut it with the Labels Collection Framelit! Then sponged the edges to add some depth.
OK, now on to the
Creped Filter Paper Flower Tutorial!
You'll need the Creped Filter Paper, and a variety of Scalloped Circle punches (see below)
I used ONE of the 6"x12" sheets in the package to punch about 12 scallop circles.
IMPORTANT TO NOTE: When punching... i needed to put the creped filter paper on a sheet of computer paper (I actually just used the Stampin' Up! Grid sheet show in the photo, available here) and punch both layers at once... the filter paper was too thin to punch by itself.
Step 5, add brad through all layers and you are done!
If you'd like to make a BIGGER flower, use the Floral Frames Framelits and follow the instructions in this Stampin' Up! Video.
You will find the kit on pg 18 of the new Spring Stampin' Up! catalog.
Don't have a catalog? let me know.. I will send you one (email me if you don't have a demonstrator and would like a catalog: pattystamps@comcast.net )
You can also find this kit and order it online here.
This fun kit makes several flowers and includes tags, brads, and a stamp! See pg 18 of the Spring catalog to view the stamp, or see it above on the sample on the right (Just For You).
Stampin' Up! Spring catalog products I also used in these samples:
On Friday night about a dozen of my Luv 2 Stamp Group demonstrators got together to celebrate the holidays with dinner, a gift exchange and we made a very special project led by Cindee Wilkinson. I wanted to share the amazing hand made gifts we exchanged.
I'll share a few each day and I'll share our special project, too.
We bring our gifts in a brown shopping bag and set them on a table, then we go around in a circle and each person selects one bag, and opens it. (no we do not steal gifts once opened).
Ellen received an AMAAAAZING wreath created by Rosie.
(Left: Rosie, Right: Ellen)
Rosie used the large 3-1/2" Circle Big Shot die (pg 193, #121811) to cut about 200 white paper circles, then she cut them in a spiral and spiraled them into little paper flower cones and hot glued them to a styrofoam wreath. This wreath is just STUNNING!
I LOVE the new Tulle ribbon from Stampin' Up! You'll find it on page 4 in the Holiday catalog in 3 yummy colors. Don't have your Holiday catalog yet? Contact your demonstrator for one, or ask me about it, and I'll be happy to mail one if you don't have a demosntrator.
Here are the Supplies you'll need and step by step instructions:
STEP 1: Fold the Tulle in 1/2 lengthwise (I used about 24"), and use a needle and thread to put a running stitch through the folded edge as shown above, then gather tulle
STEP 2: Peel off one side of the sticky round backing paper, and press the folded/stitched edge of the Tulle around the perimeter of the sticky round as shown below:
STEP 3: Punch out about 6 to 10 flowers with Designer Paper of your choice and the BLOSSOM PUNCH (#125603), then spritz with your choice of Smooch Spritz or any mixture of ink and Shimmer Paint in a Stampin' Spritzer (see THIS VIDEO), and spray your flowers on a scrap paper.

Many of you asked to see the "results" of our Blossom Punch Wreath Class, so I'm sharing some photos with you today.. .
This is how my wreath turned out using theBlossom Punch, and adding some of the retired Blossom Builders die cut flowers... I love the addition of the Daffodil yellow to the wreath! (see original wreath here)
It was delightful to have Nicki and Pam with us.. new to our stamping classes!
a little "organized chaos"....
Saundra brought her new sweeeeeet grandbaby for a quick visit... he is a dol!!
I am truly hoping that there are left over Blossom Builder sheets and that we'll see them on the Clearance Rack soon.. if i notice them there, i'll let you know!!
Wow! just wanted to say THANK YOU for all your kind comments and inquiries about my Spring Wreath post! Many of you have asked if I'll be selling a tutorial for this.. no, I won't be doing that but I'm happy to share a few more details to help you make your own wreath.
If you'd like to join us in class, I have 2 spots open in the 2pm class on May 12.
you will need to bring your own Blossom Punch and hot glue gun.
Supplies used for the wreath:
10" styrofoam wreath base (available at craft stores)
hot glue gun (it didn't seem to matter if i used high or low temp glue)
Designer Paper from Stampin' Up! (Sale a Bration paper shown)
cardstock
3/4" and 1" circle punch
paper piercer and mat pack
assorted brads
1-1/4" wide striped grosgrain ribbon
NOTE: I used ABOUT 60 punched Blossom flowers for this 10" wreath.
Step 1: start by punching a TON of blossom punches and circle punches
Step 2: curl blossom punchouts with a bone folder, like you were curling "curling ribbon"
Step 3: layer a circle or 2 onto a blossom punch, and poke a hole and add a brad, set aside
Step 4: same as step 3, but layer TWO blossom punches with the circles and brad
Step 5: once you have about a dozen or 15 of the flowers ready, start hot gluing them onto your wreath... if you put the glue on the back of your flower, and then put that onto the wreath, it allows you to place the flowers at the exact angle you want
Step 6: before you have covered the entire wreath, add a loop of ribbon around the wreath for the bow, and/or a loop of ribbon to hang your wreath with
Step 7: finish adding flowers as desired, hang your wreath and enjoy!
here are a few close ups of my wreath... be creative.. mix and match various punches, papers, brads, etc... have fun with this one!
Did you get your Blossom Punch yet!? It's in the Occasions mini catalog on pg 17, or HERE ONLINE, but the mini catalog EXPIRES (GASP!!!!!) on Monday, April 30th. I am HOPING HOPING that this punch will be in our new Stampin' Up! catalog on June 1st.. but no hints from headquarters on that yet... so .. get it while you can, cuz you'll need it for our upcoming WREATH CLASS!!!!
Are YOU coming on May 12th to make this beautiful Blossom Punch Spring Wreath with us??? All you need to bring is your Blossom punch and a hot glue gun/hot glue sticks.. all other supplies included.
I wanted to say thanks to Paula Mangum for the inspiration on this project!!
