Signs of ... Fall??? {looks more like Spring!}

I had to giggle the other day when my dear friend Janice from IL emailed me and asked if we had fall colors in our leaves yet...  here in the San Francisco bay area, fall comes around Christmas time... we are still VERY green, and in fact, due to the recent rain and warm weather, my roses are sprouting all new growth again!

Here is a bouquet I picked from my garden this week:

Happy Mother's Day from my Garden!

Wishing all my friends who are moms a wonderful day today!!  Here are some pretties from my garden for you and a little tribute to my mom!  Have a beautiful day!

I've had this framed for years.. I love this.. just thought it would be a good day to share it.

Spring Flower Photos

Many of you have asked for more pix from my garden... I have a few things blooming but no roses yet... they are usually in full force for Mother's Day.

My wisteria and Star Jasmine are blooming though.. so I thought I'd show you some pix I took this week in my garden. These were taken using my Nikon P90 camera.. it's a point n shoot camera with an AWESOME zoom :)

Friends Never Fade 12x12 Flower Scrapbook page

I had to scrapbook these flower photos that I took this week.. some were taken in my garden (the 2 on the right) and the other 2 were taken in our neighborhood. Spring is on the way!! My roses will be next ...

I made this page using My Digital Studio - the awesome digital solutions program from Stampin' Up!

I used the 12x12 template from Stampin' Up! that was part of the Friends Never Fade download ... this is how it started and you can see I added a few more flowers and 3 more photoboxes :)

Stampin' Up! just released a FREE Update for MDS.. If you have purchased the packaged version of My Digital Studio, please run the free update.  Open MDS, and simply click "Help" and select "Check for Updates" in the My Digital Studio software. The update will be performed automatically.  It took quite awihle to update.. it was a large download.

Oh Garden.. how I've missed you!

I've really missed being in my garden.. I didn't get out there much after my surgery in Oct., and then we've had a TON of rain... but I spent some time in my garden on the weekend with the gorgeous weather.. no jacket required! .. I finally got my roses pruned and took some photos of what was blooming...

I LOVE my Alstromeria plants.. I have 2 of them that thrive all year.. they bloom 365 days a year! They seem like a tropical type plant and we've had temps in the low 30's over the past couple weeks (I KNOW!!! gasp!).. but they still keep on bloomin' !!

I still had 1/2 a dozen roses stil blooming, even though I needed to prune them... don't they know it's JANUARY ?????

My camellias are starting to bloom.. they usually bloom between New Years and Valentine's day..

Isn't God's handiwork just amazing? I mean who else could design a flower like this!?

Yep.. Fall finally came... IN JANUARY!!

i LOVE Gardening in my SLOGGERS... thanks again Jan.. they rock and so do you!

Oh man... last week we had 2 days of weather OVER 100 DEGREES!!! That is just not normal for the San Francisco Bay Area!!!  YiKES!!!  My poor roses just COOKED!!

I went out and rescued some roses from the heat, brought them in for a bouquet,

 
and then just had to sit back and cry over all the burnt plants...

Oh well... we are back to our lovely weather in the 70's like it is most of the time...  Thank you Lord for the cool!  :)

My New Hydrangea

After Stampin' Up! came out with the new "Because I Care" Hostess set (pg 11), I have been wanting to buy another hydrangea for my garden....  I did just that this weekend... and then OF COURSE I had to photograph it :)  I cannot get over all the colors in one plant!

My Digital Studio Sunday

We enjoyed a very leisurely lunch on the patio in the lovely sunshine at our local Kinder's Deli on Friday.. these fabulous lilies were abundant in the planter on the patio ... I took photos after we ate and came right home and put them into a quick collage template in My Digital Studio... this was a 60 second scrapbook page.. whohooo!

My Heart is Happy today!

I am very blessed and have many reasons to be happy, but today I am particularly happy for 3 reasons...

1.  It's our son's 19th birthday... what a BLESSING he is in our lives.. love you Jason!  Happy Birthday!

2.  My Roses are blooming already!!

3.  I found something that I've been looking for for over 3 years!

I pray that you are blessed and happy today as well!

Reason #1 I'm happy today... celebrating Jason's birthday... this is a collage he made of himself for his Digital Art class this semester.. really cool, huh?   He wants to go to Denny's today for a free Grand Slam breakfast... so you can find us there!  :)

Reason #2 I'm happy today...  My Roses are already blooming... someone forgot to tell them it's MARCH !

 

Reason #3 I'm happy today... These belonged to my mom.. I've been looking for them ever since she passed away... and I finally found them about a week ago.... I just love the box and the fun memories of using them with her when I was a young girl.

Amazing Beauty on my Rose Bushes!

I was just amazed to look out my window one day this week and see hundreds of tiny dots all over the new leaves on my rose bushes... I HAD to run out with the camera and capture these little dew drops!!

Isn't God Amazing!?  Look what He did in my garden...
