Luv 2 Stamp Group - Stamp a Rama June event, part 1

One of the activities I offer my direct recruits and our Power Team (supervisors and above) is a quarterly Stamp A Rama event - it's a shoebox swap.  We each bring a finished card or 3-d project with enough supplies for the rest of us to go around and make each project.  We always have a theme, usually related to the current mini catalog or holiday. 

Enjoy these projects that my wonderful gals brought to our June Stamp A Rama.

Below, project by Vinnie... I LOVED the Stencil image on GLOSSY cardstock.. wow.. so yummy !

Below, Joy showed us the "tile technique" using a Score Pal, you can also use the SU! Fiskars cutter and your bone folder to make the 1/2" grid of score lines, THEN stamp your image on top. Looks like tiles!

After sponging thru the stencil with Cherry Coblber ink, I stamped the script stamp from the CHARMING stamp set (item code: 116519) in Basic Gray ink right over the stencil.

Jason's Birthday Card with Stampin' Up! Stencils

Yesterday was Jason's birthday.. and he likes the fleur-de-lis symbol, so I thought why not make him a card with our fleur-de-lis stencils!

You'll find these stencils on pg 11 of the newest Definitely Decorative catalog supplement.

I ripped a page out of an old dictionary and stenciled right over it using sponge daubers and ink. I used Chocolate Chip and Creamy Caramel ink.

  

 

Framed Christmas Gifts - Stampin' Up! style!

I made a few of these for gifts.. I think they turned out pretty!!  Special Thanks to Mary Rager for the idea to use the "Kind Thoughts Brocade" Stencil from Stampin' Up! with the ornament stencils!

The ornaments are stenciled with SPONGE DAUBERS and the following colors of Classic Stampin' Up! ink:

Rich Razzleberry, Bermuda Bay and Crushed Curry. 

The brocade stencil is sponged with Handsome Hunter ink.

Vintage Ornaments II stencil card

One of the cards we made at Linda's workshop was this one, using the Vintage Ornaments stencils in the Stampin' Up! Definitely Decorative Catalog! 

We sponged Rich Razzleberry using the ornament portion and Platinum Shimmer paint sponged over that using the detail portion of the stencil - (the stencil is on pg 29 of the Definitely Decorative catalog).  CLICK HERE to view the catalog if you don't have one.

The left side of the card is the "Bride" specialty paper brayered with Rich Razzleberry... see THIS POST for directions on how to do that.

Here is the 2nd 6x6 Technique Book Sample we made in class last week... this is by far my favorite one and is what inspired me to make the FRAME HERE.  :)

Shimmer Paint

Shimmer Spray & Shimmer Stencils

The background is spritzed with shimmer paint.. instructions are at the bottom of this post.

The ornament was sponged (with a Sponge Dauber) and Rich Razzleberry Classic ink using the VINTAGE ORNAMENTS #1 STENCILS from page 29 in the Definitely Decorative Decor Elements catalog and the Platinum Shimmer Paint.

 

Shimmer Paint

Shimmer Spray & Shimmer Stencils

Make your own Shimmer Paper!

Supplies: 

· Shimmer paint from Stampin’ Up!

· Sponge Daubers

· Cardstock and Rubber Stamps

· Definitely Decorative Stencils from Stampin’ Up!

· Small Spray Bottle with Rubbing Alcohol

Directions:

1. For Shimmer Spray, fill small spray bottle 2/3 full with rubbing alcohol and add a few drops of Shimmer Paint.  Shake and spray!
2. To Stencil:  Shake Shimmer Paint, open lid and dab sponge dauber into paint that is inside the lid
3. Dab off excess on scrap paper if necessary
4. Apply shimmer paint onto the stencil to shimmer your design

Kind Thoughts Brocade Stencil and Jumbo Grommet Tutorial

I was having fun with the Kind Thoughts Brocade Stencil again.. this time with one of the new In Colors, "Soft Suede".  Yummy color, isn't it?  (stenciled and stamped on a Sahara Sand Top Note Die).

 

As you can see, I added one of the Jumbo Grommets with a Build A Brad in the center...I HAVE A CONFESSION... I was kind of afraid of these Grommets so I didn't use them until last week!! GEESH!!  How stupid silly is that??????????

 

But these Jumbo Grommets are sooooooooooooooooooo easy to use!!!

 

They come in 4 colors to a pack (white, vanilla, black and silver).

See those little "teeth"?  That's how we're going to set it...

 

Place the grommet onto your card and place them both on top of the Black Foam mat that comes in the Mat Pack:

 

Then.. how easy is this.. just PUSH WITH YOUR FINGERS!!

 

Flip it over and push down those little legs with your Bone Folder!

  

 

OK>> so HOW EASY IS THAT? What was I so afraid of?? 

You can add a Build A Brad, or a decorative brad,or a rhinestone brad, or a button in the center if you wish.. lots of possibilities!!

3 More Kind Thoughts Brocade Stencil cards

Hope you are not tired of these yet.. I had so much fun creating lots of different cards with this fabulous stencil! (available in the Decor Elements Catalog pg 23, item code 116572, for only $9.95)

 

all cards use the Parisian Breeze DSP (pg 158) and Kraft cardstock

 

I sponged classic ink through the stencil on to the card.  If you are a demonstrator, did you see the neat video by Linda Hansen on the SU! site? .. she showed the spritzer tool and the stencil.. I need to try that!

 

Kind Thoughts Brocade Stencil - part 3

Yes, I'm hooked on using this Kind Thoughts Brocade stencil... it makes such a pretty background for cards!  I paired it with the Parisian Breeze Cardstock Weight Designer Paper and the Bella Bleu DSP for these classy cards:

 

The Fabulous Friend stamp (above) is from a new set coming out on April 1 in the Occasions Mini catalog and the matching scalloped oval punch is in there too!

Button Embellishments!

I was having fun making more cards with my Kind Thoughts Stencil and I really enjoyed coming up with a variety of different button and brad embellishments for my cards!

I think the one in the upper middle looks a little like a sunny side up egg!  LOL

My favorite idea... putting the 2 corduroy buttons together - how was THAT for Clever!?

I always knew that I "dreamed in Stampin' Up!", but would you believe iI woke up at 3am one morning with this idea?!?  crazy, huh?

Kind Thoughts Stencil Card #2

Yesterday I posted a card using the Kind Thoughts Brocade stencil.. here is another one.. this time I incorporated the coordinating brocade image stamp from Friends 24/7 on the right side of the card:

 

The Kraft Top Note Die is layered onto the Kraft striped paper from the Taste of Textiles package (pg 156).  All sponging and stamping is Chocolate Chip Classic ink. The button and ribbon are both "Kraft".  The tag is from the Matchbox die (coming in the Occasions mini).

A few of you have asked to see Shelli's album cover that she did with this stencil, here it is:

 

I think she used paints or craft ink pads... anyone remember for sure?
