I am so blessed.. I have such dear friends... Cindee gave me this adorable ornament for Christmas this year...

STAMPIN' UP! SUPPLIES & TIPS:

The focal point is the adorable snowman from the SNOW MUCH FUN SET, and the large snowflake is cut out of metal flashing with the Stampin' Up! Big Shot and the Snowflakes #2 die.  You can also use flattened out empty soda cans as your piece of metal.. great recycle/reuse project!  She used 2 snowflakes behind the focal point.

She made a paper medallion with a strip of paper punched from the Lace Ribbon Border Punch and Cherry Cobbler cardstock.  SCORE your cardstock first with the Simply Scored tool, then punch it with the border punch and then pleat and make the medallion. (see this video for medallion instructions).

I postponed the 25 & Counting Advent calendar class from last weekend until tomorrow.. but I'm looking forward to getting together with everyone on Saturday to make this fun 12x12 calendar!

You can "peek inside" several of the squares because I used the amazing new Peekaboo Frames die (#124587) with the Big Shot from the Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini Catalog (click here to order).

I loosly based my design on the calendar featured  on page 36 of the Stampin' Up! HOliday mini catalog.

One difference is that I decided to print out the images in My Digital Studio so that the class would go a little quicker.  Here is the page my students will receive:

 

The version in the Stampin' Up! catalog uses the 25 & Counting stamp set on pg 37 of the Holiday mini catalog. I used the My Digital Studio version of this set.

Each student will punch out the 34 images with the following punches and add them to the calendar:

• 1” square punch
• 1” circle punch
• 1-1/4” square punch
• 1-1/4” circle punch
• Curly Label punch
• Scallop Square punch
• Scallop circle punch

Control Freaks Blog Tour - Keep It Simple!

My first simple project for you is also a SNEAK PEEK into the Upcoming Occasions Mini catalog!!  This card features the BRAND NEW Paper Doily die that I got as a gift on my recent Founder's Circle trip!

I cut the doily die out of patterned paper from the Flirtatious Designer Series paper pack. Then I cut the center "flower" out of it and layered a Concord Crush "doily" (from the Perfect Pennants die) in between the 2 Wisteria doily layers. A Wisteria Wonder ruffled ribbon and polkadot brad completes this simple and quick design.

My second SIMPLE project for you is a Christmas or holiday card idea, featuring snowflakes!

I sponged 2 of the small snowflakes with Baja Breeze ink and a sponge dauber to give them a little added color.

 I embossed the folded Baja Breeze card and embossed it with the polkadot embossing folder (pg 219, #117335), then die cut a Top Note Die (pg, 222, #113463) with Whisper White cardstock and then embossed that with the Northern Flurry snowflake embossing folder (pg 219, #120902).  I embellished the Top Note die with die cut snowflakes from the Northern Frost Sizzlit Decorative Strip die (pg 225, #120901) using Silver Glimmer Paper (holiday mini pg 41, #124005).  They are decorated wtih polkadot brads (pg 199, #122940).

These Medallions (or "lollies" as some people are calling them) are very dimensional.. especially when layered on top of one another...

Holiday Stocking projects from Joy and Cindee

Joy and Cindee both shared a Holiday Stocking project at our Luv 2 Stamp Group Stamp a Rama event in Sept. ... they were both fun and so cute!

Cindee showed us that simply by bringing the "cuff" of the stocking down a ways, this stocking will fit into the Stampin' Up! Medium Square envelopes!! whohoo!

You can find the Medium Square envelopes online here or on pg 182 in the Stampin' Up! catalog, item #107289.

 I love how Cindee used the Stocking Accents die to add accessories to the stocking.  She also made them "3-d" which was adorable.. just die cut 2 or 3 of the same stocking accent image, fold them in 1/2 vertically and snail them back to back to back to create the "fan fold" look.

Joy's stocking die project was accessorized with the snowflake punch.

Last month our Luv 2 Stamp Group had a gathering we call Stamp A Rama .. it's a shoebox swap where we each bring the supplies to make a project... here is Sue's great card featuring the Warmest of Wishes hostess set from the Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini catalog.

by using the Stampin' Up! Stampin' Write Markers, we wer able to get a quick multi colored image on the wreath.

I love this .. Sue pulled the cards out of the Color Coach for us, so we could instantly see which colors were featured in her project.

This was my favorite project from my trip to Susan's house last month... is this tooo cute or what?

What really makes this fun is that is uses the HOLIDAY STOCKING DIE from the Stampin' Up! Holiday mini catalog... can you believe it? Some people are sooo clever!

Holiday Stocking Die, pg 24, #124098, $32.95

 CLICK TO ORDER

To make the Stocking into a boot, cut a 3" circle (either with the Circle Scissors (click here to order) or with the 3" Big Shot Die), then punch out a semi-circle with the 1-3/4" Circle Punch, and attach it to the toe of the stocking.

Once attached, run it through the Big Shot with the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing folder, then sponge on some Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint with a Sponge Dauber.

 

notch out a small portion to form the boot heel

add pieces from the Word Window Punch punched in Silver Glimmer paper

add a cuff and greeting and voila... super fun project!

Put 2 boots back to back if you want to be able to "stuff" the boot with a treat.
