Doesn't it just make your heart happy to look at this fun Stampin' Up! Sunflower Card?

I made this card after I saw a swap that one of my downline, Karen Abbot made...  after stamping the Sunflower image (item 123606, pg 149) and the friendship image (For Everything set, pg 70) I embellished the sunflower with a 1-3/4" Scallop Circle punch and a Brand New ULTRA MEGA FABULOUS SPICE CAKE DESIGNER BUTTON!!  Inside the center of the Soft Suede button, I punched a 1-1/4" circle from the Beau Chateau DSP package (polka dots) and snailed it to the button.. toooo cute???

I cut little slits in each "valley" of the scallop punched piece and sponged the edges with some Tangerine Tango ink.

For today's lovely cards, I used an old technique that I used to teach YEARS and YEARS ago, called Poppin' Pastels.  It's very simple.. .stamp your image in Versamark, apply pastels, rub and wow!!  So.. here we go..

1. Ink your image (Sweet Floral Background stamp) in Versamark ink and stamp on Whisper White cardstock:

2. Grab your Stampin' Pastels and your Sponge Daubers

3. using a Sponge Dauber, apply your lightest color first.. here I used Pink Pirouette first - POUNCE up and down all over all the flowers:

4. next, add a darker pink, here I used Pretty in Pink - again, Pounce up and down but only where you want some darker color:

Ya, I know.. looks messy... DON'T WORRY...

5.  add another darker pink to just little bits of the image, I used Rose Red:

6. to blend, use the sponge dauber you used with the LIGHTEST COLOR and POUNCE up and down all over and they will all blend...

7. Now you are ready to add some green to the stems.. follow the same method, starting with a light green and going to a darker green:

8.  after adding a 2nd (and/or 3rd green shade) pounce to blend as above

9. when all your color is applied, swirl lightly over the color with a cotton ball.. use one for the pinks and one for the greens - try not to swirl all over the white part of your paper... it will smear the color.

10.. lastly... i decided I wanted to see what it looked like with a little yellow added in so I added some Daffodil Delight... .simply delightful.. don't you think????

Here are 2 finished cards... you could do this with ANY color scheme...

Embossed Medallion card

This is my dear hubby's birthday card.. Happy Birthday EB !!  :)

I stamped the Medallion stamp (item 115223, pg 133) with Basic Black Craft ink from Stampin' Up! and embossed it with clear powder.  I stamped it on paper from the GORGEOUS Nouveau Chic DSP package (item 115670, pg 160).

 

The background in the upper right is the new {fabulous} French Filigree background stamp (item 113742, pg 133) stamped in Basic Gray on Basic Gray C/S.  It's all mounted on a Basic Black folded card.

I stamped the Filigree background on the envelope and die cut his initials with the NEW Simple Letters die and the Big Shot (item 115960, pg 198).
