I love this little Welcome Stamp that I received in a special stamp set at Convention 2011 from Stampin' Up!... I stamped it on a die cut from the Apothecary Accents Framelits set and added it to a cello bag with samples, and gifts, for my newest Stampin' Up! Demonstrators!

"4 for Him, 4 for Her" Class Sample

Featuring the BOOTIFUL OCCASIONS & BLUE RIBBON stamp sets

from Stampin' Up!

 

In my recent "4 for Him, 4 for Her" class we used this super fun Cowboy Boot from the Bootiful Occasions stamp set (pg 50 in the Stampin' Up! Catalog). 

I paired it with the BLUE RIBBON stamp set and some fun background papers... see below for full recipe of products used. (Don't you LOVE the pre-embossed Naturals Composition papers!?)

We stamped the boot in Early Espresso ink on Crumb Cake cardstock, cut it out and then sponged the edges with Soft Suede ink for that real leather cowboy boot look!

It is layered onto circles and scallops... see below for sizes and paper used.

OK.. NOW.. HERE IS THE FANTASTIC TIP...

Sharon Howard figured this out in our class... this is how you can stamp this Blue Ribbon image and punch it out with the Scallop Circle punch without punching off the ribbon tails!

STEP 1: Stamp blue ribbon image and make 2 cuts with your paper snips as shown

STEP 2: Flip the 2-3/8" Scallop Circle punch upside down, and pull the "ribbons" up through the opening as shown:

STEP 3: Pull the ribbons and position so that the scallop lines up with the punch

STEP 4: Punch

STEP 5: take it out of the punch

STEP 6: Trim the ribbons by hand with your paper snips

Isn't that FANTABULOUS!!?? Thank you Sharon!

Notice in the Festival of Prints paper pack, one side looks very Christmasy and the other side has great masculine patterns... GREAT for this Cowboy card!

I also die cut the "lid" of the jar with DSP and the framelits so it looks a bit like a fabric covered lid. Then i tied Early Espresso Baker's Twine around the lid and lately added a darling "thanks so much" punched image using the Tiny Tags set (pg 124 #118091) and the Little Labels Punch pack (pg 183, #126881).

Above: it was interesting to see how the different DSP patterns changed the look of this card.. I loved the pink and green combo as shown at the top of this post, but they all look so pretty!

Above: one tip... after stamping the flower in Primrose Petals ink, put just a touch of ink on your sponge dauber and go around in a circle, leaving the center white.. it really pops.

Don't you love the lacy butterfly?  I punched it out of Fan Fair DSP!

I have one last post for you with fun photos of my AMAZING week at the Stampin' UP! Founder's Circle Retreat.. then it's BACK TO STAMPING tomorrow!

 We were set up into groups on the first night, our group was Crane's Beach, and these were my fellow group members:

We are soooo spoiled on this trip.. this is a photo of the gifts I came home with ... believe me, packing was "creative" on the last night!

<< On our PJ Party Share and Swap night, I was asked to give a presentation about YouTube and how my videos have helped my business.

Do you love this.. I had this little fabric tote and I added a fabric flower from Cindee to my tote... this was perfect for my cell phone, snail, camera and essentials while staying at the hotel.

How about this for a fun teaser... I'll show you how to make these flowers another time.. Cherry Cobbler Tulle gathered and heated with the Stampin' Up! Heat tool! (these were on Selma's apron)

I LOVE making new friends... this is one of my dearest friends Ruth (right), and our new friend Catherine.. what a SWEEEET lady!!

On Friday, we rode the bus from St. George to Kanab (about 1-3/4 hours) and toured the Stampin' Up! manufacturing facility there.. so exciting to see new changes!!

Founder's Circle 2012 Glen Canyon Float Trip

Each year on our Founder's Circle Trip we are treated to a most amazing "event'.. we never know what it will be, or where, but this year the Event Staff DELIGHTED AND AMAZED us with a float trip down a 3 hour portion of the Colorado River!!  We launched right below the Glen Canyon Dam at the base of Lake Powell, and floated for 3 hours (insert singing here... "a 3 hour tour, a 3 hour tour") :) down Glen Canyon on the Colorado River!!

The photos speak for themselves.. God's amazing handiwork shows at every twist and turn on this river!

We launched right at the base of the Glen Canyon Dam.. Lake Powell is on the other side of this dam.

We went over this bridge above the dam to get here... the Glen Canyon Dam Bridge is 700 feet above the river... wow!!

Behind the dam is Lake Powell.

The water comes from the bottom of the lake under the dam and into the Colorado River.. so the water is super cold.... 47 degrees!!!! 

The weather was warm - in the 90's - but the breeze off the water was delightful as we moved..

Below: Stella and Ruth and I .. the sun was pretty brutal for us fair skinned girls, so the hats were necessary!
